Disaster!

Woke up to apparent leak in my 75G fuge. Can't see a crack anywhere but only explanation.

I need a RR 75 ASAP.

Not looking forward to the transfer process. Any help in Oak Park area would be most welcome.

And where to get a replacement RR 75???

Look at it very closely, Joel. I've had my Ca. reactor effluent tube move on me and appear like a leaky 110 gallon sump. Be sure that it's not something like that.
If you do have to make the swap, at least it's only a 'fuge, not your main display.

Larry, water is nowhere near CR. But was on nose-high light switch in room, on chair 2' away.

Makes zero sense.

But oddball stand so cant see tank bottom. Top sides all dry. But base of stand on left wet.

Strange

Two. Dry.

But wet between black plastic bottom and bottom glass on left. Must be corner crack.

Something's spraying. Is your RO/DI anywhere near? I've had a cracked housing squirt water across my basement.

I didn't see this before my last post, looks less and less like an RO/DI is to blame.

Yeah and if spraying other parts of room would be wet.

Still do not get how water is falling up. Or 3' away to the chair. But looks bad.

I am not sure I can do 75g fuge change on my own. :(

I don't know your situation, but yet another reason to keep your LFS in business is that if you need help in a situation like this, they will help. I expect they'd charge for a house call, but they bring insurance and hobby related knowledge with them.

If it is spraying out of a crack, that may be why it is hitting something so far a way like a mist. Maybe a fish re directed spray on a power head or something?

Easy way to check if it's salt or rodi - dry an area with a blow dryer real quick. If it dries clean, it's rodi, salty it's a leak. Helped me pinpoint a leak in my rodi topoff line a few months back.

Either way I'm around today to help. Any luck on the rr75 search?

No. There was a bad valve but location rules out that having caused the water where there was water. Had to be bad seam. Was hell hooking up the 60 cuve I got.

Major kudos to Tim for helping me bigtime.

Still lots to do tomorrow. Worried I busted feed connector to calcium reactor.

Worried about tunze 6205 which had to unplug due to cord location, now wont start back up.

The reactor is the bigger worry.

I'm glad things are looking up for you. Drop that 6205 in some vinegar overnight and take a pic of what broke on your CA reactor. No matter who built it, they are made up largely of standard plastic plumbing parts. It may be as simple as a trip to Home Depot.

I will clean the Tunze but the power supply will not light up. Didn't see water on it but who knows. Can't handle $200 for the friggin power supply....

No problem joel! Glad I was able to help.

Do you have any other tunze pumps? Try seeing if another power supply can run the pump. Or if another pump can run off of that power supply. It would at least help pinpoint the issue. Also try another outlet on the apex, if you have it plugged in there. Not unheard of for an outlet to go bad.

Tim

Joel the light on the power display is also a fuse, it slides out. Check that and you'll probably find it blown. Roger at Tunze is a great guy to deal with and his turn around is fast, good luck.
