DIY LED Group buy

Right now we are only 20% closer to reaching our goal of 5K. I thought there was a lot of interest here but it seems to have faded off or some have been confused about the change in administration.

maybe start a new more official group buy thread, people probably aren't checking back or not seeing that a spreadsheet was added. maybe that will help...
 
unless there is a financial advantaged to doing it a different way I am happy order on people's behalf - which is just forwarding the spreadsheet to RapidLED.
 
just to clarify: RapidLED had told me that the GB rates are valid only if one person is billed for the entire order.
 
Yeah. They need the something like the Marine Depot 'group buy code'. That would make things a lot easier than deciding what you want, giving someone a list and money, and then playing the waiting game until everyone else ponies up.
 
I love the way BRS do their group buy. Why can every group buy be like that. Why are they being so afraid of, regardless, they're making money. They have to make things so complicated. :mad2:
 
Reefers4U started a spread sheet that we are all adding our orders too. We should be able to hit the $5000 mark based on previous interest and get the 15% discount. I imagine we will wait till then to submit the order. We are going to be using Paypal to submit payment to Reefers4U.

We will be taking orders for the next 10 days. On May 22nd should we be close (but not quite) to 5K we will extend the ordering time past 10 days to a time agreed upon by us. But, if we get to 5K, after May 22nd we will place the order and move forward.

This next part is important: I WILL NOT PLACE ANY ORDER WITHOUT CASH. Just because your name is on the list doesn't mean you are going to receive an LED. You must be marked as paid which I will do on the spreadsheet on my desktop.

Any questions chime in and please be prepared to submit your payment by May 22nd. Right now I'm still figuring out how best to do that so if you have any suggestions let me know.

As much as this was a good idea and I want to save money, I think I'm bowing out. Just to complicated of a transaction for me. I need more control over my money and the product. Sorry. I'll monitor for updates in case the scenario improves.
 
Since what I wanted to buy from RapidLED was currently out of stock, I decided to buy a PAR38 bulb about the same discounted price from a fellow RC reefer. So I won't be able to participate in this group buy.
I've been tempted to point RapidLED to this thread to show why the company needs to change or actually install a group buy method that's as easy and simple as BRS's, if it doesn't want to miss out on a chunk of profits, because buyers are so turned off by these restrictions.
 
Seriously. I have a chunk of LED coin burning a hole in my pocket, but this seems too difficult, especially for the poor soul organizing it. The only reason I'd buy is because of the discount, otherwise there is no chance and the business is lost.

Are we able to back-order with the discount?
