Dmorty217's 625 Build Thread

After messing with leaks all day the tank is finally running. The skimmer will take some more tweaking and I'm waiting to see if George can make me a neck extension for the skimmer.

Holy crap! Not sure how I missed your build but this tank is going to be spectacular! I love the footprint of that thing! I especially love how you got it down to the basement! Wow! I will be following your build! Can't wait to see this thing come together once you get the livestock in it!

Unfortunately, it's the nature of the hobby. There is only so much you can do to prevent things from happening and even the best laid plans don't always go according to plan. Having been there before, I feel your pain and can understand your frustration. At least you are going into this new setup with a good plan and I would expect things to go well moving forward.

What you can't see is its sitting on a plastic container bringing it up about 6" and the gate valve is wide open so I have no control over the skimmer.
Yep, saw that. Looks like something white and something blue on top of that.

Derek, looks good man. Let me know if you hear from GEO or want me to call him or swing by the shop and ask him. That skimmer is a beast no doubt!!!! I was considering having him build me a smaller version of it, his build quality is second to none.
Can t wait to see this thing running!!!

Hmm, if you end up with weird stuff happening or Dinos or diatom issues I would remove the granite slab. It could be harmless or could possibly leach any number of heavy metals or silicate from the quartz.

Still waiting on a reply from him on the neck extensions. Here is what the skimmer is doing without one. Sorry for the sideways pic

It's already out, it was temporary

Skimmer is gorgeous! Considering having George do me a custom calcium reactor that can grow from my current 400 gallons to around 2000 over the next few years. Overall build looks great, one of the threads that keeps me checking in here occasionally!

Yeah have George build you one. I was out there right before Christmas and he had some big reactors going out. :D
Derek I told him you needed a neck extension again, yesterday via text. The skimmer is a beast no doubt.
Progress is coming along good. Can't wait to see it in person sometime.
