Dmorty217's 625 Build Thread

The neck extension is a must for his application, it working now but kind of a pain to adjust. It a great build skimmer just needs a little change to meet his needs!

Derek I have been waiting for this build lol. I recognize some of that live rock!! How awesome will this tank be, I am extremely jealous. If you are ever back in NC, let me know!

Finally... I know. There are definitely some big pieces of Pukani in there from you, although they look kind of small in the tank!

We finally got a few lights up for testing.

Looking good :)

Still not going to add coral?

I'm going to play around with these and see what the par is in different places of the tank. There will be some soft corals and eventually some SPS. Taking me longer than I want to get even some simple things done... Like hang lights. Pretty much have to put on swim trunks and get in the tank.

Ah that's good :)

LOL I know what you mean, I pretty much have to get wet to reach the bottom of my tank. Kind of wish it was 2" shorter and 2" deeper haha...

Have 5 lights over the tank now to see how it looks... Let's just say I need more light whether I do corals or not. Looks very spot lite like in pictures at the moment. The 1" brace that is in the middle of the tank really doesn't help anything. Thinking about getting some water proof leds and putting them on the underside to help with lighting

Yeah, I think he was going to try to restrict the pump some. When George built it for Joe, I seen it at the shop but was so impressed with its size I didn't pay much attention to the details. But if there is a way to control airflow that might work. Or restrict the pump some as mentioned earlier. Can't wait to see the tank growing up!

I opened the hole for more airflow which has helped. The gate valve is still all the way open. I hope once it breaks in some more to try tweaking it some more. It's touchy to say the least, hence why there is no drain line on the cup. I do need more light, anyone know of a good and powerful strip light led that won't break the bank?

Derek, I went with MarsAqua 300wtters on my tank. They are great, cheap, and light kharay tank up all the way down at the bottom. I have them 14" off the surface and at 43" deep the clams on the bottom have been great for 2 months now and I began to bleach some lps. My mid level sps have been fine and haven't lost any color at all.
