Subscribed and even more jealous now that I know you have a zebra eel.
So the next thing to address is what to do about the top wall/canopy area. The 2x4s are treated lumber but I worry about the drywall and also the ceiling above the tank. I was thinking about some marine application paint or kils or similar, thoughts?
I think you will regret not having access panels over the tank on both sides. If it's not too late I suggest going back and redoing this. You will want swing-out panels at least two feet high on each side.

I would highly recommend Benjamin Moore Aura Bath and Spa. It's pricey but it's the best interior paint on the market that has to hold up to moisture. If you have to prime, Benjamin Moore Fresh Start. I use it in all kitchens and bathrooms that I work on. Great stuff
I got a epoxy paint from Sherman Williams that was recommended to me. 80$ a gallon
what did you think of that paint????
I plan on getting another one for the 625g to have a "pair" if you will. Granite counters are going in around the tank and I'm setting up one of the two 125g that I'm using for a QT system by this weekend to get it cycling
We have a 50 on our 470 and 70 on our 150.
Humidity stays down in the house around 47-50%.
Have to empty out the 50 everyday though...
