I finally put my two Pink Skunks into my tank and right away they went into the rose tip anemone. I noticed these fish hid the whole time in the QT, but now is in the show tank, they stay in the anemone 24-7. Even to eat they eat whatever floats into or by the anemone. Is this normal? Does anyone's skunks stay in one spot all day? These guys don't even swim around in the current and have fun. WB friends

Mine pink skunks spend about 90% of their time in their anemone. Just leaving to eat and once in a while to swim around. Still trying to get a picture of them actually laying down in it -- one their side, like we would lay on a bed.

Just the male in this picture, the female is under the oral disc of the anemone and can't be seen.

When I had my Pink Skunk it was always attached to it's anemone. When I had my little pair of Skunks they were always playing in it. Every time you looked in the tank those two were always chasing each other around it, under it, in it through the tentacles. It was so comical, like watching two kittens playing with each other with a paper bag on the floor.

yeah my pink skunks are like this too ..I would tell you about mine but I would pretty much be repeating everything Toddrtrex have already said

he he he. Feel free to repeat, makes me feel good about myself. ;)

Well the only thing that is different is mine are in a purple LTA.. in my picture it is the female and the male is behind the oral disc.:p

These clowns are fast..so its difficult to get a clear picture.

When I had my purple LTA, they wouldn't leave it either.

I am jealous of yours, such a great color.

My purple and skunks shortly before I got rid of it.

I know your only talking about pink skunks but my true percs never leave their anem either. They will dart about 6 inches away from it just for food & then right back into it.

When I transfered them to a bigger tank & the anem started walking 1 of the clowns stayed right in it. The other must have been day dreaming because when it realized the anem had moved it got a look of panic on its face & started darting around the new tank franticly looking for the anem.

My 3 occy's never leave their ritteri, even to eat. They just wait for food to float in. I will target feed them to to make me feel better.

My ocellaris dont leave their BTA too.
I had two black ocellaris which were waiting for food 7/24 at the top of the tank until I added the BTA to the tank. After the anemone hosted them, they never come out to eat and starved to death :( Now I am more careful with my new pair, I add extra food so they can get the ones that pass near their anemone.

Maroon, skunk and percula complex clowns dont usually venture far from their anemones because their body shape and fins are not very suitable for fast swimming. However, clarkii complex clowns have really powerful tails so they will hover around the tank.

This is goos advice friends, and good pictures to :)
OMG I guess i have to target feed them because I don't want them to die. Today I noticed both didn't eat this afternoon, i just hope they survive. My first two clowns died from disease, and I realllly don't want the ammonia to go up with the extra food. PLUS i hate worms!!! GROSS

I had an ocellaris female that had went thru like 4 males. Had her bout 3 years. Never would host my rbta or gbta. So when my male died last week, I thot "no better time 2 get rid of the female" so I traded her on a gold stripe maroon, wild caught, cute lil bugger. Well, he dove straight in my big gbta. And pretty much stayed in there till I guess he starved. Poor lil guy, I've got another that I'm gonna bring home n a few days after I make sure he's eating. my qt tanks down since I've been doing some remodeling so hope this one does better.

I assume that they mean they feed blood worms or something like that to their fish. also, if you have cycled the tank well then added food shouldnt cause a spike in ammonia. I feed huge amounts every day and everything I have is happy.

What I mean was if you over feed in ur tank, there will be a high amount of unwelcomed brisstle worms. I said I will need to spot feed my fish in the anemone and try not to over feed them ( like last week) because I hate worms. I even baught a worm catcher to collect them tonight.

Bristle worms aren't bad at all, in fact they are good for you tank, they will eat any uneaten food, and help keep it cleaner.
