Do ocellaris host anemones?

awesome pics guys...I was always a fan of the RBTA under actinics. they look so sweet. but I been doin some research this morning after I got up. these (mags) get pretty big huh. well have the potential to get big atleast. biggest thing I seen was they like flat rock to perch on?

OrionN I read your thread last nite on treatment. eventually when I get to this point ill be asking questions if that's ok with you? id have to set up a separate treatment tank other then my 20Long QT? I ask cause most likely I will QT fish with copper before going into main system. and copper and inverts are no good if I remember correctly...

and I went on images on bing, and there are many many colors to mags, I usually only see them in a beige/tan color really.. but also noticed that's mags curl up a lot, why do they curl up into a ball like that?

It is possible that copper bind to the silicone and glass and release to the water. There was an "expert" that I don't trust much anymore who maintain that once a tank got exposed to copper, it can no longer be use for reeftank. I do not think that this is true.
I have never use copper to treat any of my fish so I don't know about treatment of copper but once I had a Rio pump motor that cracked in my tank and poison the tank with copper. A bunch of snails and shrimps died, Fish was fine, and the corals all bleached. I changed the water multiple times to prevent tank crash. Once stablilized, my reef tank was fine.
I think you can use tank that you treated fish with copper in to QT the anemone as long as you clean it well.

what color is your nem?

Mine is the fairly standard beige tentacles/white tips with a light purple base.

On the subject of QT/HT, I think it is a good idea to have both a quarantine tank that is setup permanently (with requisite active biological filtration capability) as well as a hospital tank that can be setup and broken down quickly to suit a specific treatment. All the latter really requires is a tank, heater, power-head and the ability to do daily water changes. I generally do not quarantine inverts, just fish, and if the latter require a specific treatment its into the hospital tank.

My occy pair have been hosted by many bta's. The first time they saw one it took a couple hours. But I did squirt a cube food into the bta and ever since they have been hosted by any bta they've seen :)

I doubt it as well. Seems if true, the amount of residual copper on the glass or silicone would be so negligible as to be irrelevant.

well I use a aquaclear 200 and a aquaclear 20 I believe it is. I use 2 foam blocks in each filter for bacterial presence,.. before I kno im getting a fish, ill throw all 4 foam blocks into my sump for a couple weeks to build up the bacteria colony, then toss them into the filters and im good to go, if I medicate in the QT tank, then the foam blocks get thrown away, and new blocks go in weeks before new arrivals for the QT...and I just do a water change on my main system and fill QT up, heater and powerhead already in there, toss in foam blocks to filters and wahla, QT set up in 15mins....ready to go
