Do you have nice aquascaping? if so let's see it..

Tried to maximize use of "negative space"...

Here's mine, 25g cube.

Some beautiful scapes here. Very artistic. Since this is the SPS forum I thought I'd throw this out there. Since SPS grow outward, I don't see many people accounting for that with their scapes. In fact, some of the nicest rock scapes end up looking weird once corals are mounted. Delete some of those outcroppings and mount tabling species to create them with coral and color. Remove those peaks and mount a stag there for upward growth. Some of the most impressive tanks start with simple scapes and let the coral do the talking. Anyway, I'm no expert but that's sort of what I'm doing.

My beginning scape...

Here is a more recent shot. There is a monti colony in the middle behind the powerder blue that does not belong there. I wanted a nice diagonal trench in the middle. I mounted my stags and vertical growers in the middle and back, and my tables like milles and the like around the edges. It still has a way to go and is not exactly what I had in mind, but we'll see how it plays out :D

Yes, one of the main issues with scaping in reef tanks is rocks are called aquascape when in FW planted it's called a hardscape. The aquascape is the finished product after you add in plants or in our case corals. This is why many people fail to get the look they are going for once grown in, they were aquascaping with their rock and not with a finished product in mind. That's another point, in reefing people have so many different tastes/likes it's hard to visualize the end aquascape if you're always changing your mind.

BTW your aquascape looks pretty good, once it fills in it'll look even better :)

I'm still working on the hood to hold the ATI Sunpower, but the scape is done...

Here's a perfect example of another point, in FW this hardscape would be way too symmetrical. People in reefing are always saying a hardscape is too symmetrical without factoring in coral growth, it all depends on how you utilize the space with the corals especially SPS as you can add a lot of height with them.

Cool hardscape, do you plan on adding corals to the rocks on the back glass?
