Does anyone still run XM 10k 250 watts bulbs ?

Hi ,

Does anyone still run xm 10k 250 watt halides ? I had 2 unused and thought of using them . I was using giesemann crystal 17.5 k bulbs and wanted better growth and had these xms lying around . So thought why not ??

Raised the reflectors and reduced photoperiod to 7 hours from 10 hrs to acclimate .

Now, question is what do you use to supplement the xm ? I have 2 reefbrites that are used for supplementation but I feel I need a couple more .

What ballast do you use ? I am using 1 M80 and 1 luxcore in hqi mode .

I don't currently run the 250w XM 10k but I have experience with them. I used a Vue Technology 250w Electronic ballast and that bulb was a par monster over the 'ol 50g. If I did it again I'd probably supplement with T5s, either Giesemann or ATI (Blue+).

Thats exactly what I did.. Its so amazing a color - crisp white with no blue. The T5s and reefbrite leds help balance it out pretty well.
