It is 30"X30"X24" tall. I like the cube tanks, and unfortunatly since I am in college, it would be a pain in the *** to move around a 120 gallon rimless or a larger cube. I just don't want to buy the cube and be disapointed. It is going to be an SPS dominant tank. Do you think this is enough relestate for a couple of years?
The 93 gives me ability to have a cool aquascape.
What do you guys think?

The 93 gal.

The 48 x 48 will be a real pain to get to all the corners to maintain. Unless you will have access from 3 sides - then not too bad.

Sounds easy to light. I dont think its gonna be any easier to move around though.

The only reason I think it is easier to move around is because it is over a foot shorter, and it would cost me half as much as a 120 rimless.
The 120 rimless would cost me
$1150 delivered pllus building a stand, if I have time would cost me $150 to $200

The 93 gallon would be
$600 with tank and stand.

What should I do for lighting if I did a 93

I think you should go for the 70gal Marineland that you didn't list. At 30x30x18" you still get all the interesting front to back aquascaping opportunities that the 90 has, plus easier maintenance (reaching to the bottom of an 18" tank is a lot easier than to the bottom of a 24"), the ability to light for SPS with a 250W bulb instead of a 400W, an easier tank to move and a lower price tag.

Move off campus, that way you dont have to move every year, and get as big a tank you want. That's what I did haha.

I am off campus but I will be moving in a year after I graduate. I have no idea how much money I will have after I buy a house or how big it will be. So I really want to get a tank that I can:
1. afford to maintain-(2 part)
2. fit into a room easily
3. transport in my car

These are all reasons why I want the 93 gallon.

Great idea....I like the idea, but I really want to do a bonsai style and could use the 24"..PLus I got long arms. I'm 6'4"

+1 ftw

more tang options with the 120

SO true......Darn this is tough.
I had a terrible experince a week ago. I came home from break. I have left my tank running on it's own many times. I have my rodi hooked up to my sink and a spectra pure float in my sump.

Anyways a freak thing happned last week with my 72 gall bow when I was gone. My skimmer for some reason overflowed my 5 gallon waste bucket. I ended up with 15 gallons of water on the carpet and a completly dead tank. All that salt water was being replaced with fresh water and dropped my salt level to 1.007 All my beautifull fish and and SPS dead. Ruined my tank and stand as well. It warped te crap out of my stand which caused it to be un-level, which caused stress fractures in one of my corners. Let's just say that was a crushing day. Anyhow, I was planning on going with a smaller tank for a while to get my confidence and enjoyment back. The thought of halling a 4 foot tank around a couple of times in the next 5 years sounds bad. So I am in a toss up.
Do you guys think that a 36"X30X20" tall would be better. I would have to get one made. I almost bought a 200 gallon marienland deep dimension for $1000, but I got to thinking that I couldn't fit it into a normal doorway. So I decided on a 30" deep tank.

one more option. I took down my 125G 6 footer, in anticipation of selling my house, and purchased a DSA neo nano 34G, and love it. less headache, and believe it or not, my corals have never looked better. forget what everyone says, larger tanks are more stable.......this sucker runs like a swiss clock, no issues. anywho, here is a pic. i got mines on the cheap, about 350 bux and carried over most of my equipment from my 125, skimmer, pump, MH etc. i kept all my premium corals, and some select high dollar fish. really happy with it, and oh yes, i carried it in the house by myself!

I think you know what you want and are looking for people to validate the decision ;-)

Yeah I am going to go with the 93 gallon. I just feel that this is the best decision for budget and interest right now. This will definitely not be my last tank. Some day I want to do a monster tank.

Look at it this way, Both tanks unique in their own ways. The cube offers a neat look. So does the 120 gallon rimless. Yeah there is less room for corals, but that will give me thopportunity to spend more money on less corals. I think someday I may get to the 120 rimless, but at least not for 3 to 5 years. This will make me happy for a while until something else blows my mind.

LOVE YOUR TANK. You have done a great job. I agree with the nano thing. I think what most people mean by a stable tank, is that it takes less time for something bad to happen on a smaller tank than a larger one. As long as you keep the smaller ones understocked and taken care of, it can turn into a real gem like yours. I have looked into that tank a couple of times, but I thought to myself, man I would really like to have a pair of snowcasso clowns and many smaller wrasses. Maybe a smaller bristletooth tang, we will see. I will post a build thread. I will probably get a tank this weekned!!!!! :celeb3:

Here is my equipment that I own right now and is going on my future tank
1 Vortech MP40W
1 Vertex alpha 170 skimmer
RKL with 2 PC4's and a SL1 with PH and ORP

Things I need to get:
Light??? 400W 20 K reeflux!!!!!
4 Bulk RS dosing pumps 2 for 2 part and the other 2 are for vodka and MB7
Marco shelf rock (bonsai look)
30# live rock to seed the marco
Rod
Acrylic
Sump
Enheim 1260 for a return
RKE with NET- I need this so this past incident could have been prevented. If I could have monitored my salinity I could of drove 4 hours to fix it.
SL2-salinity
Thanks all, I truly value all your opinions.
