Its kind of an odd thing. Usually prices go down after a product has been out for awhile. In this hobby, often the opposite seems to occur. Are the costs in materials going up?

AQUACTINICS is very proud of the fact that all of their products are American made, but it is COSTLY. Like with any new products cost adjustments are necessary to remain in business. Yes, the cost increase is a bit hefty but if you like the quality of their products (which I can vouch for personally) then you would not complain about this price increase! Either take it or leave it it is your choice! But before you compare other products to Aquactinics make sure that you compare apples to apples of the manufacturing process. (like where it was manufactured).

Is aquatinics a European company? If so, the crappy performance of the USD may be partially to blame.

i belive the company is catalina aquatics. i dont remember the website when i get home i'll post it they have nice t-5 lighting for under 700 for a complete system or 500 for a retro fit with 8 bulbs moon lights and a remote.
