Don't forget to Bow down.

You said massive overhaul on my reef and you knew nothing about it. It was not advice. I never said I was ordering anything. I simply asked what the ad was for. I also assumed that there has to be some unbeaten food, apparently I may or may not have been wrong. The only advice I asked for is what should be my cleanup Crew.... but hey... . I'll bow to the know it all gods and say I'm sorry that I can't know how to post and when to post so ill just not post on this forum anymore. Good luck to you all.

I think you are going a little towards the extreme. One person made a comment that you did not like and you are not going to post any more?

So, im a little late to the party but i have a question, might be dumb one but o well :-)

how do you feed your fish without any food ending up on the bottom? Or in between rocks, or in the tiny holes in the rocks??
Do you feed super slow?
But then how does food go down to the bottom dwelling fish (goby) if you feed slow, dont all the fish in the upper water column get it, tangs, wrasse...

With out a clean up crew wouldn't this food just rot away and cause problems with out the CUC??

O and for the record i bow to no one!!! Lol :-)

Your/my mini maxis are doing great also :-) I have a bad habit of going all out and loved them and bought a bunch more...that i didnt/dont have room for!!! So now im selling some of my others in the fs forum.

I gotta say now that ive had the minis for sometime i miss the big carpet! It brings a lot to a tank!!!

To Gary and Mistermister- I sincerely apologize if I wasn't clear or was misunderstood or if I just came off like a complete ingrate. Your advice and suggestions have helped me emensly. I'd have crashed three times over if not for you guys, and others like you. I do undestand where Bobtail is coming from- although I think he took this all way to personally. It is a very intimidating feeling getting into a hobby, trying to learn from experience and from others. I'm certainly not trying to stir anything, just hoping that another newbie can understand that there is a lot to learn, no one knows everything, and that experience is the best teacher- whether its yours or someone else's. So, thank you again, and no, there should not be a bunch of ueatenfood on the tank floor, but 100 crabs is a bad idea.

Lighten up, Bobtail. Life's too short to hold grudges. Enjoy the ride.....

back when this club first started which was sometime in the 90's, we went through the same problems. to ease up the tension here is some of helpful advice. We decided to start our statements with " in my opinion this is the way you should do this" this helped us stay friends

I like blunt;,it gets to the point quicker. Besides we don't bow around here;we come to attention and salute. There are lots of obsequious posts, that go on for paragraphs without useful information which if there was any is often buried deep in the sugar coat.
Last thing I need is political correctness or transactional analysis techniques slowing down the infromation flow.
If anyone is being attacked regularly on these boards of late; it's Gary; not so much for the information but the style. It bothers me. I think folks should lighten up when attacking personality and style. Gary has provided lots of information that has been helpful to me over the years. If I don't agree with something I'll say so or clarify my meaning if necessary but I alwasys try t olearn something from the exchange. I did this as a new reefer too.
If an opinion presented is in error,it should be challenged but stay off the personal stuff and don't take it personally, please. If you feel something said makes you look foolish or you are being dismissed;just say something smart and useful. This is supposed to be fun.

I haven't read the original thread in question .
Imo, it doesn't matter very much whether the food is eaten or uneaten .Most of it is expelled by the feeding organisms anyway. Virtually all of the phosphate is since very little is used, for example.Just like you expell most of the phospahte you eat. Only the nutrients built into growing tissue mass are segregated from the system. So ,it's the amount of food put in the aquarium vs the export capability of the aquarium via skimming, gac, organic carbon dosing, macro algae harvesting , sand beds , GFO etc.
