Don't Shoot The Messenger

I live a few miles from Dowling so i can't comlain about distance, but if a new location would mean a more steady schedule i would be all for it. I had to miss the last meeting due to the time change.

Hasn't Christine been posting on this thread too?

Doesn't she count? ;)

I'm so sorry Christine, I honestly meant no offense. I have missed a lot regarding LIRA in the last year or so since "the move" I didn't realize that you had been elected to the BOD. I lost touch with a lot of stuff, I didn't know Jim More was gone until just a few days ago.

James--

Our/my apologies on that one again. That one was completely out of our control--the room reservation was changed on us, no one bothered to tellus either (we found out when I called to confirm the room). Needless to say we weren't pleased.

Yes, I am on the board. Yes, the board is carefully weighing options and measuring what time/place would be the best for the most people. All of us are looking at different places to find a good long term, stable solution. We don't like it this way either, and everyone agrees the club would benefit from having a stable place to meet.

We'll keep everyone posted :)

Dowling is too far away if the club wants to attract more members from Nassau or Queens.

Actually Dowling or Les's place is pretty centrally located on the Island when you consider some of us come from Eastern Suffolk ;) Takes me an hour to get to Dowling and only a few minutes more to make Bay Shore.

Bill, you're hardly in "Eastern" Suffolk. :)

I vote for meetings in Montauk.

Seriously though, I loved the dance studio.

if its moved any further west, i think a lot of people would be pushed away. at least i know i would be.

if all these ideas fall through, i could ask around at suffolk. the selden campus. its a little further east, but im sure there would be room available.

id also like to add that friday evenings sound better than saturday afternoons.

Selden! :eek1:

I'm liking the idea of something in the town of Babylon or even town of Huntington. Something close to a major parkway.

i didnt realize everybody lives so far west.

the selden campus is only like 2 minutes off of the LIE. pretty easy to get to imo.

Well, not everybody, but a good amount of us do.
If the meeting went further East, I think it would effect a lot of members.

IMO if the meetings were moved further west we would probably pick up members from the 5 boros. Ofcoarse we would probably lose members from far out east. I see this will be a no win situation for the board. Everyone wont be happy no matter what the outcome...

Yeah, just screw us easterners. :)

Actually, with a 6 yo, and a garden that keeps expanding, my weekends are shot anyway.

This should be interesting,, "the board" being all hush hush hmm what a concept actually listening to the membership. Ohh yea if we go back to less i will be back, perhaps the best reason for the board not ot do it.
Just kidding,, but it would be nice to be able to make the meetings again.
