Double mouthed Maxi mini carpet : Is he splitting ?

Hi guys,

I am owning this maxi mini carpet for 2 years now. He is the oldest of my 6.

There a few months ago, I saw a crease appear.
The crease is always present. But now, my anemone has two mouths.

As you can see from the photos, the crease and the mouths are visible.

Should I expect a split?

*The nem is healthy and i feed him weekly or every 2 weeks. His size tripled since the first day.

Probably between the mouths ?

Yeah I know... but I mean straight, curved, scalloped....

Not trying to be mean or rude... I was just wondering the pattern. A scalloped cut might not make the edges reform correctly but then again a straight cut would never match correctly.

Compared to a "S" cut where each side, from the mouth, would be in mirror each side would reattach back to the cut more evenly....

Like I said... just curious. Did not mean to sound like surgurey 101 or anything. I guess this would be more of a higher level class though Maybe a 500 class.

You would want to cut straight through the mouth,in a straight line from one side to the other. If you wanted more than 2 you could cut it pie shape as long as you have some of the mouth on each cut.

You said it has tripled in size, how big is it now?
I have one for 5-6 months now and just wondering how big they get?
Thanks.

It has two mouths... I would cut it down the middle between the mouths.

I have cut probably over 100 maxi minis. I have also cut a few Bubble anemones over the years with great success. The key with each is to not get too greedy and just cut in half. Always include a piece of the mouth.

I just cut these a couple days ago and they are doing well in a tupperware container.

They need a couple weeks of recuperation before they can be fed. Usually 3-4 weeks depending on how much damage you did in the cutting.
