drummereef's 180g in-wall build

UPDATE:

Sorry I haven't been around in a few days. Been busy and waiting for parts to move forward on the build. :o Anyway, wanted to update the progress a bit. Most of my plumbing parts will be in this week so I'm waiting on those to arrive. Need to finish paint the stand and do a little touch up on the front wall before I plumb. But, I was able to pick up a couple of the true union ball valves today. I will have the other three this coming weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to start plumbing within a week or so. Getting close though... :)

Here's a pic of the ball valves I'll be using. They are Chemtrol true union ball valves. The one on the left is 1-1/2" and the right is 2". The glue is for perspective of the size of the 2" valve. It's large. :D

I think the instructions call for one can of glue per joint on that thing... I'm having a little envy:D

It's huge! It looks like you don't have nearly enough glue.

 Wonder if they sell PVC glue by the oil drum. :D

I think you're going to need a pipe wrench just to turn the valve.

Hehe! They are actually surprisingly easy to adjust. Super smooth action. :)

You are probably right!

UPDATE:

OK, a mini update... First round of parts came from Savco today. The order was packaged very neatly. The only issue was they sent an extra 1-1/2 bulkhead but I ordered a 2" for the suction side of the Dart. I'll call tomorrow and see what we can work out. Should have the next round on Wednesday. :)

The moment you said updates (plural) and "when they arrive" I knew you had picked yourself up a pair of vortechs! They're awesome, just don't drop the drivers in saltwater (but if you do, I might be able to get you a good deal on a pair of refurbished ones, haha).

Did you get the battery backup as well? Are you going to have any supplemental flow with a tank that size?
