drummereef's 180g in-wall build

Great thread you have here, Brett. I just read through the whole thing.

I'm currently just getting started on my 180G in-wall build so I might have some questions to throw over your way. I'll be starting a progress log in the next couple days, so feel free to follow along and toss your 2 cents my way if you'd like.

Best of luck moving forward. Can't wait to see some more progress!

I love your new family room. That carpeting looks really comfortable to walk on barefoot. Thanks for sharing your upgrade with us.

Wow, looks really great!

I agree the carpet change makes a big difference. Looks like a beautiful room to sit and watch the tank.

The room looks beautiful! Enjoy it while it's clean... as the baby grows up, the less space you'll have... and the more toys you'll try to hide :-)

This thread just siphoned away about 3 hours of my life, . . .i read the entire thing in one sitting!

WOW! awesome , crazy awesome build - I always love the OCD - uberdetail builds, very inspiring. and i learned alot too along the way

Ill be watchin this one

Wow, looks great. Well done!

Thanks man. Not quite done yet but a lot more comfortable. :D

That looks like the perfect room to have a fish tank in. I think the most exciting prospect of being a home owner is the ability to have a fish room.

I agree. It's nice to have some space to stretch out and enjoy. Can't wait till I can kick back and watch the fishies. :)

hey Brett you room looks really nice man... do you want to sell your house?:rollface::dance:... heheheh i would buy it... i guess many ppl here would love the fish room.... btw where are the pictures of the little one

Haha, I'm working on those pics. :D

Absolutely will check it out. Good luck btw, it will be a fun journey. :)

Thanks Marc! It's amazing how soft carpet has become. Back in the day it was so coarse but now you have tons of textures to choose from. This carpet is a frieze and is quite easy on the toes. :)

Thanks Justin! :) Hopefully soon I'll be watching more than a block of glass.

Hehe, that back room to the left of the tank is supposed to the the "play" room. We'll see how long that lasts! :D

Haha, sorry about that! :D Thanks for checking in and keeping up with my ever so slow updates. Hopefully things will be picking up again soon.

any updates....

I wish. :). I was ready to move forward with the lighting before the holidays but Coral Vue had apparently run out of the Lumen Brights I wanted. I need to ask Jeremy at PA if they are in yet, maybe I'll call him today. So yeah that's the latest. Wish I had more news for you.

Brett, I just upgraded my lighting to Lumenbright III's and love the added light it has given me. It will be worth the wait once you get them installed. I was running Lumenarcs previously

UPDATE:

Finally something new to post in this thread! :bounce2:

Well, it's official. Just ordered the lighting for the system. Once again Jeremy at Premium Aquatics is awesome and put together a great package for me.

3x Lumenbright Mini Pendants (with glass)
3x Galaxy Select-A-Watt Ballasts 250-400 watt
3x 250 Radium Bulbs
Misc cables etc....

I'll post pics when it all gets here. :D

Sounds awesome!! I didn't know Lumenbright offered glass for their reflectors?

Thanks Dave. See I'm not a complete slacker. They offer the regular reflectors and then the pendant style reflectors that have a black shell with the glass. They are what Melev has over his tank but I bought the mini's since my tank isn't as deep front to back.

So glad to hear you'll have some good lighting over your tank. Ready to start a cycle in that bad boy?

Me too. :D Well, got to get some rock in the box first. I'm planning on using Marco rock and 'cooking' it for a long while. I know the recommendation is 1lb/g of wet rock but since Marco rock is dry what's the recommended ratio?

Nice reflectors. that is cool you can change to 400 later if you want. I really liked my marco rock. I didn't cook mine didn't know you were suppose to. well I did pressure wash and let sit in a bucket for a little so i guess I did. Now I remember some nats and stinky water in my tank when I put them in.

What sucked is when i added a piece of hatian rock that had a aptasia. Can wait to see the pics. The lurkers in the back ground still love pics.
