I think i offended the readers of the thread more than the OP. lol-

After everyone gets the knot out of their panties from my first comment - maybe you will realize that the tank just looks out of place if you compare the inner room, and the outer pictures of the building.
The inner room looks like a surgical center or NORAD or something, and the outside looks , well, pretty crappy.

Maybe that is just the standard of living there , maybe that is a nice neighborhood? Pardon my total and complete ignorance.

well i guess i am crazy then, and the only person out of hundreds that was inflicted with this ridiculous thought about the neighborhood.

I will say no more about it. I do not want to detract from the thread as i have allready done so, so please accept my apology for doing that.

Everyone please get over it, and forget or delete my comments if they just dont need to be in the thread. I thought it was a valid question, but the mob disagrees.

Please carry on.

NM1975-slums

NM1975-slums

I agree with NM1975. I thought it was a "slum" neighborhood, but I didn't dare ask because I thought I was clearly missing something. Everyone here has to be less sensitive to word choice. I think it was a bit harsh, but it was direct. The interior looks amazing, but the exterior looks like a slums, NM1975 and I can't help but make that connection. I applaud him for asking because I didn't dare ask.

Moreover, if that's a nice neighborhood in Bangkok, I cannot imagine what a Bangkok slum looks like.

Lastly, it's not ignorant. He asked for enlightenment. You people got all focused on the issue of ignorance when in fact he did make that clear in his comment. As far as NM1975 and I can recall, Thailand was a 3rd world country, and is now a developing country.

Ching, how long before you add the rock structures you have created? Also, pardon me if I have missed the answer somewhere in the thread, but what kind of bottom are you planning? Deep sand? Shallow sand? Bare bottom?

Sorry Chingchai

I spelled your name wrong. I would still love to see the story unfold.

P.S.

Never mind your detractors, simply jealousy.

it will be one of my to do things when i go back to asia...
forget all the sheltered kids on the board they have never left mayberry and experience life!

I have to admit - i am jealous.

i think anyone with a passion for the hobby would be a bit jealous and awestruck. Im not jealous about the huge demand this would drain from your time and finances, but i guess if you go big you gotta have the "you only live once" mentality. I mean, can you even imagine doing a waterchange on this, or cleaning the glass? Can you imagine just buying the salt for this tank. ?? mind boggling

this is like a museum or city aquarium quality tank, in someones teeny tiny house!

You are building the great pyramid of Giza. You are making the great wall of china. You are painting the mona lisa - right there in your living room for the world to see.

Naturally, lust and jealousy will follow. :)

do please continue.

Hello Chingchai

No need to explain anymore. Let ignorant people find out for thamselves. NM1975 and rrstuv, let your geography and social studies begin here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thailand . You may finish additional research if so inclined.

Best regards

Neil

That's why "ballers" do what they want and "haters" do what they can.

Absolutely amazing Ching!

Probably better to stop quoting NM1975 and just giving more attention to his remarks by replying in this thread.
I think this thread deserves attention on the built and the tank itself rather than side issues...

Keep up the great work Chingchai!

Thanks Hans! A+

LOL-I'm not jealous. I enjoy looking at these aquariums, but I have no interest in actually doing something like this.

Thailand is not OECD, if you want to get technical. Calm down people. We get it now, it's not a slum.

But great tank. I apologize for the mess I have caused here XD

That is what passion is all about guys.

I think you may not have visited asia. Thailand is a amazing place. Millions of tourists visited there annually. You can call it a 'slum' but its a town that they enjoy living in. Even the rich do not necessary want to shift to unknown places as they have been brought up the way it is. They may got used to it and perhaps that is the reason they make their big bucks from this very so-called 'slum' they live in.

Please appreciate this thread rather not to drift into unnecessary debate.

Although its a question that lingered you, but it should put in a tagful manner.

Truly an amazing build. I think the people from Gerogia aquarium would be jealous of this sytem. Top notch all the way around no short cuts taken. I am really jealous. That neighbor hood seems like a great place to call home. Thanks you so much for sharing with us. I am in AWE everytime i see this thread updated
