Mixing tank is probably 2 times the size of my display

um maybe 6 times

Calculators->Tank Volume Calculator
Using the following input parameters
Tank Length = 54 inches
Tank Width = 20 inches
Tank Height = 70 inches
Tank volume is calculated as
Tank Volume = 327.3 Gallons

Is 3/4" (29 mm) thick enough for 70 Inches of water?

I know when we talked about going over 42" on a 72" long tank my manufacture wouldn't let me go under 1 1/4. When I suggested making it thiner, he said it was the height that dictated the thickness, not the length of the piece.

My display ran scared at seeing just the mixing tank!!!:) awesome build, I watch all the updates it's great.

Good question.
Thanks for your comment.
But the tank maker is confident for this thickness.
Let's just wait and see.

Ching how are you going to keep algae from growing in the water mixing tank?

Incredible build!!!!

Thanks.

I will keep the mixing tank dimming all the time.
This should be avoided the algae issue more or less.
Anyway, I will have to clean the surface frequently.

Great use of technology, Ching!

Couple of questions:
(1) I see that you have mounted all of the lighting ballasts in a DB cupboard ... are you planning to mechanically ventilate it?
(2) Awesome wiring racks ... any potential issues with rusting?

Love the chiller; I don't understand why chillers aren't normally made like that with a separate heat exchanger and an external upright compressor unit. Given how cheap split unit airconditioners are, there's no reason not to have powerful and affordable chillers for our display tanks.

Cheers!

Tone :)

Tone. Thanks.

1. I will take out the cover of the cupboard for better ventilation.
2. That is what I worry about too. But they claim this won't happen. We'll see.
