I know when we talked about going over 42" on a 72" long tank my manufacture wouldn't let me go under 1 1/4. When I suggested making it thiner, he said it was the height that dictated the thickness, not the length of the piece.

You are correct, 3/4 inches is the minimum for 30" high......this tank will bow severely and eventually fail.
