Here is specification of my calcium reactor:

Jetstream 2 (with pump Eheim 1260 and pH holding device)

External measurements (LxWxH): 450 x 200 x 900mm
Reaction volume: 9 liter
For tanks up to 10000l

If the reactor doesn't keep up with the demand, you can always by-pass it with a large vessel, like I did on my tank. I also have a Jetstream II
This way you increase the contact time and so increase the capacity of the reactor.

You mean the mixing tank. Right?
If so, somebody here did warn me on the thickness and I am aware of it as well.

Maybe I misread. I thought someone was questioning the thickness of the display tank.

Chingchai, I can't believe how well thought out this build is. I've loved following it this far and can't wait to see how it turns out.

Everything seems to be coming along very well... how long before you'll add water? And livestock?

Not the display, I had mentioned that his holding tank was made of 3/4" and would not hold up to the hight that it was made. His DT, is 2" thick. 2 inch cast is good for the static pressure of ~140" of salt water at 1.025 Sg.

His manufacture has added bracing. I don't think that is going to help, 3/4" is really only suitable up to about 36". I doubt that one of the seems will fail, I would expect catastrophic falure in the lower 1/4 of one of the larger panels, and about 300 gallons of water on the floor. If the tank was 70"L x 54"W x 20"H there would be no problem, but 70"H and 3/4" :rolleye1:

I hope it works though, I want to see this beautiful tank.

CUfishfan. Thanks.

I will add water in the next two week. Livestock could be two months later.

Sump already arrived.

Just when I think you can't make this build anymore impressive you unload the dream sump on us! There's nothing sloppy and certainly no compromises on this one. My jaw is on the floor. Thanks for sharing.

Finally caught up.

This may go down in history as one of the nicest setups ever documented on RC.

Lids on the sump.

Lids on the sump.

First I have to say it again.... Your fabricator is an artist... Truly a masterpiece.

Now I have a couple of questions.
1. There appears to be a 4 Inch gap to the right of the filter socks, what is this going to be used for, I assume that the red Acrylic is glued on all 3 sides for the right panel as the left panel has a gap to allow water to go underneath. I just cant see any water that does fall back there, getting out. With all your planing, and atention to detail, I am sure it has a use, just escapes me at the moment.

2. I was going to ask if you had plans to use the channel on the top piece of the red U, where the holes for the socks come in, but after studying it a bit more, I see now that it is actually the way that piece of acrylic was extruded, kinda like a channel to slide another piece of plexy. I thought at first it was multiple pieces, so question to has been changed...

3. In another picture with the output pipe from your BK Skimmer, you have a piece of plexy covering the filter socs. You can see the brace for it in this picture. are you going to be drilling holes in that cover for the drain pipes to fit through, or are you planing to route the pipes under it.

AS always.. Amazing work. Sorry to pull you away from it with questions.
