First I have to say it again.... Your fabricator is an artist... Truly a masterpiece.
Now I have a couple of questions.
1. There appears to be a 4 Inch gap to the right of the filter socks, what is this going to be used for, I assume that the red Acrylic is glued on all 3 sides for the right panel as the left panel has a gap to allow water to go underneath. I just cant see any water that does fall back there, getting out. With all your planing, and atention to detail, I am sure it has a use, just escapes me at the moment.
2. I was going to ask if you had plans to use the channel on the top piece of the red U, where the holes for the socks come in, but after studying it a bit more, I see now that it is actually the way that piece of acrylic was extruded, kinda like a channel to slide another piece of plexy. I thought at first it was multiple pieces, so question to has been changed...
3. In another picture with the output pipe from your BK Skimmer, you have a piece of plexy covering the filter socs. You can see the brace for it in this picture. are you going to be drilling holes in that cover for the drain pipes to fit through, or are you planing to route the pipes under it.
AS always.. Amazing work. Sorry to pull you away from it with questions.

This is coming along fantastic! Good work.
Any thoughts of what you might use to hold your aquascaping together eg. pvc pipes, cement, or epoxy?
Thanks
Kevin

i think his aquascaping was laid out in the first couple pages...no pipes just cement... looks fantastic too...as does the rest of the build....and to think my wife pooped on me for a couple hundred dollars worth of coral...this is fantastic and very inspirational...realy makes me want to get into my custom 180...(and double it..)

Thanks for the tip!
Wow that looks great!
Won't cement leach silicates or any other form of binders or chemicals?
Will it possibly elevate PH?
Thanks
Kevin
Thank You for the info<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=15380944#post15380944 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by murfman
You can make rock out of portland cement and oyster shells. You have to "cure" it in water for a few months but it is do able. They make cement for lining wells that doesn't have the PH issues like portland does.
