I'm still kinds new to the hobby but wondering if anybody has had this problem. My rock builds up dust/powder I have blow it away daily it's been 7 months or so and I have yet to build any purple and some of the rock Is turning black wondering if it's because of the dust/powder.

The dust is probably detritus and waste product, sounds like you may not have enough circulation in your tank if you have to keep blowing it away. The rock turning black is algae. Add a new pump to increase your circulation. How big is your tank? How many inhabitants? What kind of filter, lighting ect?

mr. evo, that is way to high of a bioload, and as catnup was saying(? lol) a tang in a 24 gallon nano, is just cruel, unless he is small and you plan on moving him to a larger tank.

tangs are very active fish, and their fore, need lots of space to move around in. he will eventualy become too large for that tank, possibly stunt his outward growth, while his insides grow too large for his body.

how big is the tang?

does he pace against the tank glass, rubbing his nose raw?

what kind of clownfish is it?

same of the goby?

thanks.
