I have heard from others that it looks alot like a beckett injector, but never seen a picture to confirm. The thing is, some sort of venturi is no more 'plankton-friendly' than a regular beckett here in the US... so I find it hard to believe. Also, I have referenced info from Sprung & Delbeek where they show that little to none of the phyto that naturally exists in a closed system/aquarium is actually in the water column like in nature... so the skimmer sounds like alot of hype and false claims to me. And in the end, using a venturi mechanism on a pump means 'lots-o-watts' being used by whatever pump is feeding it, and without as much air intake.
I can understand your scepticism but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Plankton friendly or not, element sparing or not I see that it sucks out a whole lot of scum, much more then my former skimmer. This I know for sure !
