dvanacker's 200g SPS tank......

Wow guys....I wasnt expecting such a response. Call me modest but I hope I don't disappoint, I know many of you have even more amazing boxes of water. The tank being just over one year old I hope I'm on the right track to match some of the beautiful tanks I see and admire here in the SPS forum. My main goal of this thread is just to track progress, get some advice and share some picture.

Here is a picture of my sunset mille from last November....

Good stuff Darryl! Things rebounded from the stuff before!

I'll have to take a FTS these days, once the coralline algae has been evicted from the tank ;)

Just curious as I love the stand....Do you have build pics of how you built it? You just screw cement board up and tile? Do the doors open up or are the handles just for show?

Your still using 20k's right? I just ordered a frag of the yellow caroliniana and hope I get the same coloration as yours under my radiums! Beautiful!

Yes, I'm a happy to say the tank has rebounded fully for a few months now. For those that don't know Vlad is refering to a Vodka overdose in which my doser/timer/personal F up caused roughly 300ml of vodka to be dosed to my system on two seperate days just a week apart. At the time I worried about a full tank melt down but surprisingly it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. I lost 2 or 3 corals and ****ed everything off, it took about 4 months before things looked good again but all in all I think it could have been worse.

Sadly in the event I lost my prized find. An indo echinata that I aquired for just $40 at the LFS.

As well as this beatiful blue millepora (not as said about this one because I have a few blue mille's)

thanks, sorry no pictures of how I skirted the stand but it was really simple and I did it in a day. Simple plywood and 2x2 skeleton w/tile and cultured stone window sile at the top. The stand doesnt open up with doors or anything but the skirt is on sliders so it can pull off for access to underneath (which I dont need very often). That is why I have the handles....just to pull the whole thing out.

Yep...20k 400w with vho actinic. I have mine 3/4 down in the bottom half. It seems to love this spot. Not a fast grower by any means but the color is great IMO. Awesome glow under actinic as well.

Wow, this is inspiring....for my much smaller 36 Gallon SPS only tank.

thanks buddy. Good luck with your tank.

Nice pics and thanks for the clarification on the stand. Sorry to hear about the loss on the enchinata as I love them and my 20k enchinata is my favorite.

sorry to hear about your miss half, glad that your system is up and running again....

could it just be me or is ODing our system seems to be a norm for anyone that keeps sps, as i feel your pain gone though a very similar situation twice this year and if you manage to come out of it, your system just looks that much better!!!!
