EcoSmart Live Comprehensive Update (BETA)

I was able to connect this morning and create the aquarium layout. When creating the layout, I originally thought it was a side view of the aquarium and I couldn't put the Radions or Vortechs in place. I then realized it was a top down view of the aquarium and was able to place the equipment.

When first placing the Vortechs, both went to the back left-hand corner of the diagram, but I was then able to move them any where around the edge of the diagram.

Tried adjusting the vortech schedules and the schedules will not hold / take after making the changes.

When I return back from my trip, I'm going to shoot a short video of the problems that I'm having, so that you have a visual.

Thx,
Randy

Shaun,

On the Vortech settings page, when I drag the mode boxes around on the 24hr time bar, the start times do not match the start times indicated when I click on each mode box to adjust its settings.

For example, if I drag over the "constant mode" box and drop it on the 24hr time bar, I can grab the left-hand side of the bar and set it at 8am. I then click that box and the start time indicates 7am. It always seems to be an hour behind what time is indicated on the bar. I do not yet know if the VorTech is utilizing the time in the settings box or the time on the overall program bar.

Does my explanation make sense?

It does make sense and I appreciate the detailed message. We will take a look to see if there is a potential issue with VorTech scheduling. Thanks again for the feedback.

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the VorTech schedule. We are aware of a few issues and are also working to improve the usability of the schedule. We will keep you all posted. A video would be perfect. Thanks again!

Hello Shaun,

Thanks again for all your support and I should have the video clip of the minor problems by Thursday or Friday at the latest.

Time left in Acclimate Mode?

Time left in Acclimate Mode?

Shaun, I'm trying out the beta but I don't see where it tells me how much time I have left in Acclimate mode. I see where Acclimate mode is either "On" or "Off" but no way to know how much time I have left to acclimate like there was in the old version. Am I missing something? I found that feature to be extremely helpful.

Shaun,

My reeflink still cannot pair with the vortech after the firmware upgrade.

In the home page I see "searching for the addressed devices" then on the left device manager, I see Missing devices? I did click add legacy vortech to upgrade firmware the second time. The 2nd upgrade process was successful. If I select add device via wireless, it will show "cannot find radion".

Restarting reeflink does not help. Upgrading firmware twice does not do anything. I still cannot see vortech in the device manager.

Is this issue reproducible in your testing environment?

Is this beta upgrade effecting the non beta subscribers?

I am having problems connecting to my Reeflink, it has been dropping out since I purchased it, requiring a reboot to get it to connect, however since the release of the beta, I am finding it even more problematic, 5 days ago I could not connect at all, tried for 5 hours as I had 10 guest over for dinner and wanted to show off the features. When I did get it to connect the next day, I opted for the Beta trial, but it screwed up my programming, so I opted out and re did my schedules, Today, the same embarrassment, I had a friend over and wanted to show off the controls, but again I could not get it to connect.

Shaun,

I think my question may have gotten overlooked in all the posts....

On the Vortech scheduling, what mode does the pump run in during the "transition" mode (ramp up/ramp down)? I assume it goes to "constant" mode since the control unit knob pulses green but wanted to verify. Thanks.

It is essentially a constant speed mode as you guessed, with the difference being the speed automatically adjusts from the specified min and max speeds at a rate governed by the selected ramp type.

How exactly do you upgrade your vortechs to connect with reeflink? i currently have tried to hadd the legacy vortech option and each time i hold mode and set the lights blink red white and blue not just red and and white like what the program is saying. Any advice or set by step procedure to connect your current vortechs to reef link then to Ecosmart live.

Thanks

After removing power in the first step, you must hold Mode and Set while applying power to the driver. It is important that you are holding Mode and Set as you plug in the power supply and continue holding until the driver blinks red and white.

Thank you i will try that after work. I really appreciate your guys customer service. It means a lot for a loyal customer

I was having the same problem rds85, I was not actually holding down the buttons when I plugged in the power, I thought I was fast enough. You literally need to hold dnow the buttons and problem is solved. :)

Yeah i would have never thought to hold them down while plugging into the power. but then again i guess it allows the to complete the circuit as turning on and skipping a section in the computer code. Just a guess!

My instructions plainly state to hold the two buttons down WHILE plugging in the power cord.

Sorry dude, just messin' with ya....It is kind of awkward holding down two buttons simultaneously while plugging in the cord.
