I have to catch two Acanturus Tangs that I sold locally, so my tank will still be a mess today

Did the tangs put up much of a fight??

They did. In this shallow tank they seem to have less patience with eachother. So I keep the Convict Tang and the yellow Scopas. Hope they will do fine without the two others.

I'm really under pressure here! have to post ASAP.

Yup....eyes don't lie No more Angels for me!! Not pressing my luck as it already is having all 4 of them being so buddy buddy to each other

I've been lurking without taking any time to chime in, but I have to say, your tank looks awesome! Especially considering your lighting woes!

I can't get over your combination of angels and butterflies in the reef! It's really fantastic to see!

Holy motheR!.. That is a nice SPS forest ... aquascaping is hot as well... One day my tank will look like that :lol: I just have to hide the clippers

Yeah I love em angles and butterflies too...always did and initially wanted to set-up a separated FWLR for em when I upgraded to this tank but decided it was too much work. Then after reading some threads about people successfully keeping them in reef tank, decided to give em a try myself

Hopefully they stay well behaved :rollface:

Thanks reeferpnoy - still a lot to do in the tank but will get there eventually once my new lighting comes on board. I'm going back to old school for lighting...!!

Don’t mind the slightly milky water, as I just clean the tank and the dust have not settle down yet. You can see the different in lighting brightness in the before/ after shots.

To refresh your memory, the before shots was taken using a 72” I-Series Solaris. And the after shot is using a 1.5m under 3 x XM 10k 250MH and 2 x 54w T5 460nm Marine Blue light fixture.

You will also notice the dead rocks is now covers in pink Carolline algae!


Will take some micro shots once I get my lens back from the hotel.

That really looks good Ed. I like the highs and lows and the left side of your tank does that 5:3 ratio we discussed in my thread a month ago. :thumbsup:
