Crab - the Goldflake didnt make it. I got a fish with ick, i manage to keep it in check and only lost the goldflake. All other fishes were fine. I may look for another one, but i have tons of SPS and worried it mipping it. Perhaps, Belus Angel is a better choice for me.

Darn - it's too bad you're not local. I have a male & female Bellus pair that seems to try & breed from time to time. I wish I were sure of upgrading in the near future, but as the male is a bit too territorial for my aquarium they may need rehoming before I can upgrade. Sorry to hear about your Goldflake, they are one of my favorite Angels. I had mine for months, problem free, until a random jumping incident :fun5:

Crab,

Sorry to hear about your Goldflakes as well. I hear you about them jumping, i lost my female flame not too long ago. i couldnt find it, until i looked behind the tank. Sure enough, it was there all dried up.

Thanks for the offer on Bellus. hopefully i'll find a pair locally. I might add a couple tangs within the next couple weeks.. and i should up date some of these pictures.

Have you found that you need more flow across the bottom now it is bare?

Hey John,

Yes, since i switch. i notice where the detritus builds up on cetain area of the tank. To avoid accumulation, I added a pump to sweep flow across the rear bottom of the tank. Making it float into the overflow, where i have a filter sock on.

I hope to set up a nano like your within the next couple of months..

I am thinking about removing all the sand from my tank, and then placing an mp10 on short pulse directly underneath the overflow. The idea being that detritus would be kicked up and then sucked out. I guess the depends on if the the main returns can push detritus away from the front of the tank and back towards the mp10 and overflow. I wish MP10s were not so expensive.

Anyway, your tank remains an inspiration. I love all the shelving. How have the wrasses taken to the bare bottom?

subscribed to see the awesome growth of your tank. Your setup has inspired me to take my time under the hood and make things neat.
