just got my Apex online last night.. added a Netgear gaming adapter and followed the apex set up.

This will come in handy when I'm away from home.

With a toddler at home and me being away. I added a door latch and magnetic switch on each side of the door. This serves two purpose, first to turn on the Sump light automaticly when i open the door. Second, if by any chance my son gets the door to open (without any supervision), i could have my controller email me.

Sweet setup with the auto light and email notices. Was it pretty straight forward in programming/setting up the controller to have that function?

Yeah, pretty easy. I was have a little issue when i routed the wire too close the Light. it was weird, the light we turning off and on. then i realize it was probably picking up noise from the ballast and radiating into the IO box. So i re-routed the cable and it worked ok. As far as programming goes, it was straight forward from the manual. Nothing special. If you need help, feel free to hit me up. I be more than happy to assist.

Jeff!!! thanks, i tried to keep it clean for now. I'm sure it wont stay that way for long. Yes, this is the sump from you. I really like the way you had it designed. Its really roomie. what water level did you use when you had this running? I was thinking on 9 inches. Also thinking on adding a custom made refugium on the second sump chamber.

I don't remember what level I had the water at, but if I were to guess I would say around 8-9 inches. I think the refugium is a very good idea. Is the light fixture giving you good spread over the tank?

the light fixture gives ok spread. not what i wanted but ok. it does have the t5s that i wanted. I'm thinking on changing the ballast to electronic ballasts.

its cable duct by Panduit. Its available from Panduit.com or Grainger.com. Ebay may some similar ones. just have to find the one that fits your stand.
