thanks Rick! I appreciate it

yeah, it's getting a little crowded......... ok a lot crowded! :headwalls:

Hi Elliot! I love your tank, and am one of those that likes to lurk in the forum section and dream big. I like to think of it as making up for all the research I didn't do in school so that one day I can have a large reef of my own, but I degress....

I want to ask about the feeder. I read through all your explanations and think I get everything except this: How do you keep water flowing through the pipe to the fridge? What pushed the water up to the fridge and in turn brings it back to your return? Thanks in advance!

thank you AirForceAquariu, keep dreaming big! :)

display tank water from the overflows drains by gravity to the sumps and is pumped back to the tank by the return pump

so think of the fridge as just another sump (located at the bottom of the fridge, that white 4" pipe sticking up), which is located just before the return pump that pumps water back to the display

that 4" white pipe is just a sump or reservoir, where water constantly collects as it makes it's way back to the display tank

make sense?

Ohhhhhh I think I see it now! I missed the fact that it is actually a loop since I didn't see the PVC coming in on the left! So it is just an open topped flow through point essentially with space for some water to collect!

The engineer in me is always trying to understand cool DIY's like this. Definitely one of my favorite tank adaptations I have seen.
