Equipment for clam tank

hi
i am 13 years old and just had my birthday. i have a 55 gal that is doing great. so i am going to start a clam tank. it will be a 20 gal long. i amgeting this protein skimmer http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=ES33000 for lighting i will have 150w 14k MH. heres my filtration http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/product/productInfo.web?infoParam.mode=1&infoParam.itemKey=205867 i am geting crushed coral sand and live rock. i will start to culture phtoplankton and was wondering if that much equipment is enough. thanks for any help or suggestions

You add a dose of each a day or however many times a week to maintain a proper cal/alk level.

Michael - it may help to consult with the forum on Clamsdirect.com from those who specialize in farm grown clams - and also the forum for invertebrates in MarineDepot's forum where you can get info from those with "Marine Biologist" titles.
 
i would advise you get a better skimmer. i use that same skimmer and it couldnt keep up with my 10 gallon nano... it WILL skimm out alot of stuff, but it will not keep algae and phosphates from building up.
