Ammonia doesn't come primarily from poo but rather from the fish's urine. And fish urinate all the time, regardless if they were fed or not.

It seems that the overwhelming majority agree that mysis would not decay into harmful levels of NH3 in the time it takes to get home from the store. Thanks everyone. Like I said, I thought this was a very strange opinion.

Has anyone ever noticed regurgitated food in the bag? I haven't, but maybe I haven't looked closely enough.
