Feeling Cubish? My new 50g cube

Kayla, where is your nice big Long Tentacle.

I looked all through the page again, it is just a fantastic job you and Josh did. I really like the setup.

I was going to do a Oceanic 30g cube, but my wife thought it was ugly and wanted us to get the 24g Aquapod, which was better looking in her eyes. I was going to tweak out the Oceanic and have 175w MH and it would have been sweet, but this Aquapod is pretty ok too.

Hey Kayla, how long have you been using Seachem Reef Salt? I just started using it myself after using IO for over 5 years. SO far I really am happy with it.

Thanks Everyone!

Gday Amy,

The 50g Cube was set up using the new Seachem Reef Salt, right from the start. I use IO here in Aus, and am not totally happy with it... I will start looking for new ones. (might try NSW), Im looking for either Tropic Marine ProReef, Seachem or KZ (ZEO) salts.

The old tanks, were previously using Oceanic/Kent.

We are very happy with the new salt!

Cheers

Kayla, I'm pretty sure that I swam under Henry Morrow, if memory serves me right. It was a long time ago and I only swam with him for a year or two before I moved to TX. Did you get your rotator cuff fixed? Both of mine are shot and one day I'll probably get them fixed.

That cap looks nice, almost blood red.

The LTA is in a 20 gallon with my Skunk Clowns at a friend's house. My friend was diagnosed with severe bone cancer (among other complications) and has to stay at home after enduring weeks of intense chemo, so I wanted to give her something relaxing and entertaining to pass the time and take her mind off of the situation. Because she lives literally down the road, I stop by weekly to check on the tank and perform water changes--all she has to do is topoff and feed on occasion.

the cube looks great! what are the dimensions and who built it?
It's a 24x24x20" acrylic "cube", custom made by My Reef Creations. The bottom was painted white and the sides black. Although the tank is BB, because it is so elevated (or I am so vertically challenged), I hardly notice. Coralline has begun to cover the bottom already as well.

I know Henry! I never swam for him, but he frequented many of the meets my group attended (Mark, Dwight, and Jeff were my coaches at John's Creek through the years). I never had the operation; the doc said it would be no guarantee I wouldn't run into additional problems in the future, and a friend who had the surgery ended up having a problem with the other. So I opted to end my swimming career instead (one of the hardest decisions of my life), although I still coach in the summer.

Thanks! That last pic is under actinics, so the red was intensified. Regardless, it's clearly loving the 250w.

More pics will come soon. :)

Ok Kayla... You setup a thread for your new 50g Cube, you need to follow a basic Rob Rule here since I am involved in the thread.

The Rob Rule is this... New page = New Pictures of your cube! :D ;)

I am sorry to hear about your friend and think it is great for you to do that for her.

You are just a busy little camper with 4 tanks going pretty much!
