Gigantea is looking a little pale in the pics, but seems otherwise healthy.

Awesome find, good luck with it!

thanks! saddleback pair

Are they being hosted by something else? That's not their natural host, but I would have thought they would jump in pretty quick:confused: .

they aren't hosting anything, and I did see that this carpet was not a natural host, I just hope for the best. If not o well :)

thanks cmcneil!

tyler he is pale towards the inside, maybe it will come back a bit. Overall he looks great IMO

he ate 1/2 silverside the past two days and has not moved, so I'm hoping he is happy at this spot.

No argument from me, it looks excellent. I hope it settles into your system well over the next couple of months and starts regaining a bit of zooxanthellae.

There's nothing I love more than Gigantea and Magnifica success threads with LOTS of pictures :D

Your Gigantae is indeed a natural host anemone. A very readily accepted one at that....

well I guess the 'document' I read online was not accurate. I'm happy to hear I'm wrong! Hopefully the clowns take to it sometime, but still not given it so much as a glance. They are rubbing up on rock and bases of sps, not sure what the hold up is, but know it can take a while.

I also saw another thread where several other gigantas were lost shortly after purchase from unknown reasons in FL? I hope this particular one is not of the same fate.

I will keep the thread posted with any changes, and lots of pics :)

The gigantea is a natural host, but IIRC not to Polymnus clowns. I could be wrong, but either way I'd expect them to take to it eventually. Consider it a blessing for now, from what I hear polymnus can be rough with their anemones.

carpet deflated last night big time. Looked like a clam

and the clowns? I have a nice king size pillowtop bed for them, but they still prefer the bathroom floor LOL

one day... :)

Nice clown. Is it a hybrid or something because saddlebacks dont have yellow tail. the whole body looks like saddleback but the tail make it more like a black clarkii or a sebae clown. Nice anemone too.

Wondering if the carpet had a big meal last night? Maybe that's why it closed up. Any fish missing?

all fish accounted for and no meal yesterday

As for the clowns, morph saddlebacks or black australian percs maybe? The female has black spot on tail
