First Albino Marine fish worldwide made in SA

i hope my comments were not taken as bashing.. just curiosity.. i want you to be successful in this new clown.. i want to see some here in the states... you are the Darwin of the clowns...after all sciencetist bread clear frogs so the can see the inner workings with out having to kill them

I think that the chamber for the males are too small. It is true that you need at lease two males for each female or else he will not last long.

First off, congratulations on the strian of Oci Clowns, they are awsome.
I've been through both this thread and the one on MOIB, both are very informative and give us all hope in our own little fish breeding projects. I wish you luck and profit in your endeavours.

Am I the only one that thinks that selecting Franken fish that nature would elimanate as breading stock is not a good thing?

I see that there are people suseptable to the marketing here and that it is not going to go away. I want the animals in my reef to represent the actual reef. What is next, gene splicing for photoluminescence.

I think I expressed this concern a little more politely a few posts back.

I see no marketing ploy here. Unique = expensive.

LOL, that's why I told you to read the sticky, and I put it in my sig line that all posts from the 25th until we moved over would be lost. :)

Interesting but I never liked albino fish. I wouldn't buy them. And I do have a pair of picasso clowns I bought for 300. Don't care for the snowflakes either.

what sticky? I am oblivious to the planned "move over". What happened to my 'Red House"

LOL, well I had it in my sig line, and it's been at the top (Announcements) with red print in every forum. I posted in this thread for you guys to read it as I didn't want you to get too deep into posts that were going to disappear, since I've been reading it. I have no idea about our home pages, I'm guessing there are still things for the tech guys to do. Here's the official explanation for those who don't read stickies. ;)

There are many very good and important posts of this thread just gone.
I would say, the lost ones were the best in this whole thread.
Hopefully they are able to find them somewhere and bring them back.

Well that's a slight exaggeration as I've read every post in here, and as soon as I saw you might get too involved I posted here for you guys to either read the sticky announcement or my sig line. This is screen shot from the lounge, but it shows it was there.

The posts are not misplaced, they no longer exist, and they will not return unless the original posters feel inclined to repost them.

While it is unfortunate the system wide upgrade of HW and SW put us in the unfortunate situation well detailed in the announcement post at the top of every single forum on Reef Central, the upgrade was critically necessary in the maintenance of a billboard the size of Reef Central.

If folks missed it, the announcement post and history is right here:

All the best.

Hi Minh,

Hope all has been well. Quite a few changes in the upgrade, icons being one of them.

If you click on a users name in a post, a menu for home page, pm, etc., will pop up. There will numerous features enabled over the next few weeks, not sure if icons are coming back though.

Cheers.

WOW, one piece of my internet finger print that will not exist forever. Well half of what I wrote was just me being a smart @$$ anyway.

MasterBreader all coments on the clowns aside your breading program sounds amazing

I also like your water on duck attitude toward the diversity of opinion. Others should take note.

The dawn of the dead clowns should really appeal to a portion of the hobby with the right slogan

you can't kill what is already dead
or
you don't want to know what they do when lights go out

Hi guys,

here are some news from South Africa and the Albino clowns.
We had last weekend the IMACSA 2009 in Cape Town. I was one of the lecturer at IMACSA. Marcel, that´s me, in between the living legends Julian Sprung and Anthony Calfo. F....k, I was so nervous. A speech in front of these guys and the other hobbyists, on top of it in english. Hectic, but I managed my part of IMACSA very well. I was told so many times!
My albino clowns were shown to the public for the first time. I was thinking of the comments regarding posts we had in this thread, regarding pale colour, etc.
I decided a week before IMACSA to feed a few albinos with an astaxanthin enriched diet. I think the result after just 7 days is remarkable. We all know that astaxanthin will boost orange and red, but the albinos were boosted to a maximum, with a minimum of astaxanthin. These pictures are not the best ones, better pictures taken with professional equipment will follow,
including the announcement, who will be your GOOD HOPE ALBINO supplier in the states.
These pictures will give you guys a roughly idea what they look like in real life.

Nobody mentioned a dislike or something similar regarding the albinos. Around 3/4 of the people, including myself prefer the pale orange, many people, including Anthony Calfo and Julian Sprung like both colourations and many prefer the darker ones.

Julian Sprung´s comment: They are cool!
Anthony Calfo´s comment: They are magnificent!

It was an awesome event and it was a pleasure to meet Anthony and Julian in person.

Please, I would like to know what you guys think about there colours.

Very nice. I like the darker ones myself.

Did Julian or Anthony comment at all on how they think these clowns will fare under high intensity reef tank lighting?

No, because Anthony and Julian had a hectic time. Everybody wants to talk to them. So I had just a few words with them. But I got there contact details and will find out more after they will be back in the states by the end of this week.

Anthony and Julian in the middle of the crowd, was like the flies around a piece of sh....!
I hope nobody will kill me for this comment, but I don´t know how to explain it. Now you got at least on idea.
