First Gig Carpet

Very nice. The brown spots on your anemone will spread all over within a few weeks. Best of luck with him.

Must be nice to have your clowns take to your nems so quickly. I have a medium sized very healthy green haddoni, a nice red bta , and a nice green bta. I have a pair of snowflake clowns. I also have a pink skunk. I know that you are not suppose to keep these together but they get along fine. They sleep together in the upper right corner of my 54 gallon corner bowfront. Not one of them has shown any interest in 5 months . Any suggestions? BESIDES PATIENCE!!!!!

My Gig is doing really well. Nice green. Not metallic, but a nice color. I will get a new picture up tomorrow. I have only fed it sparingly to keep it smaller.

I can appreciate the frustration of your clowns not hosting. It took about a week for my Perculas to adopt the Gig and I thought it would be automatic. I don't think you can force it, but here is a crazy, untested, idea. Don't feed the clowns, but feed your anemone some Mysis. My Percs always rob some shrimp from my Gig when I feed it and maybe that will create some familiarity between your clowns and anemone. Then again, it is not unheard of for even clowns to get eaten by a strange anemone before acclimation. No guarantees.

Thanks,
Mark

Here is the Gig today. It is much more of a true green color than the picture shows. Keeping it small with infrequent feedings, but I should probably feed it a little more often. It has stayed in the same place once it settled in and the Percs love it.

Thanks,
Mark

Shortly after I posted the picture, I noticed I had a problem with my DT system. I did not think my Gig was as expanded as much as usual so I thought I would check on the circulation and Tunze powerheads.

Trouble definitely comes in threes! My Apex controller was dark and not operating (I think the firmware may have become corrupted somehow), my closed loop pump had seized (probably calcium build-up), and I discovered two plumbing leaks. Glad I checked!

Actually, the small leaks don't bother me too much because they are at union valves and easy to address. The closed loop pump is a minor pain to remove, but not horrible. The Apex though, means I have to read the manual again and re-learn all the set up junk (NOT a computer guy) and then run the cable across the house to the router to re-load the firmware. Yuk!

Overboard, you need to definetly update ur firmware. I can get you on fusion. It's plug and play bro. No issues. I've been Beta testing for a good while. It's been great.

Also, you can send a support ticket and do a team viewer session. Just let them drive. They'll update ur firmware and get you on fusion. Just let me know bro.
