I bought my first mangroove at the lfs but it seems pretty beaten up(talking about the leaves and stem) it had lots of roots and a pretty nice recent growth, thats the only reason why I bought it. I planted it in aragonite sand a and made a eggcrate rake for it not to sit to low. My lighting on the mangroove is a 5000k 7w led bulb. Do you guys think my setup is alright.

I think it will be fine. You might try wiping the leaves off with fresh water every month as the plant will evaporate water off the leaves and that will leave salt residue behind. Normally rain washes off the leaves in nature.

Thanks Ron. Already did, thought it was every day or two in which we had to wipe the access salt.

It's a matter of how much the mangrove is evaporating water from it's leaves. I have had some in my 65g shallow reef tank that I never bothered to wipe off at all and it did just fine. If leave start to brown or burn, then you need to do it more. But then mangroves aren't a big deal to me as we just pick them up off the beach and they grow all over the place along the shoreline.
