thanks Jonathan, I will make a trip to fastenal down here. I even made a called to them before ordering part and techs told me stainless steel. if not I will go ahead and fabricate something for them.

'Secret lighting' lol. Watch him cut a hole in the ceiling and put a skylight or a bunch of sola-tubes in... that would rock.

Don't want to hijack your thread, but I have a 3 tank DI set up from a company called Hydrologix here in VA. It has a carbon bed and 2 mixed beds, no waste water and takes all of my tests to "0" This company is actually a commercial water treatment equipment operation that does a lot of hospitals, dialysis units, etc. They also do pet stores now. Some of the hobbyists got them to start doing these set ups for us. No installation charge, no equipment charge and it costs me 17 cents per gallon (based on your city water quality). I can make 5 gallons of water in about 15 seconds with no waste.

Point is, you guys should see if there are companies in your area willing to do something similar. With such large tanks, I can't imagine the time and waste water you go through to get what you need.

that's a good point Steve...so they don't charge you for the resin? Is it just a counter put on the water line?

Exactly. Has a little water meter. They call me once a month and ask how much I used, then send me a bill. Last month it was $19. They told me I will get about 4000 to 5000 gallons before the little electronic TDS meter says I need a tank change. The I can still get another 1000 gallons. I call them when I need a change, they come and swap the tanks and no charge for that either.

The unit isn't big at all and all you need is a water source. I hooked mine to a utility sink a few feet away. A friend hooked hers up to her water heater feed. Another friend has a 600g system and he uses a 4 tank system. Did I mention no waste water, so you can put them anywhere.

The hose on the front is where the DI comes out. Has a ball valve on it. You can see the black circle to the right of the lable, that is the meter. On top is an electronic TDS meter that goes out when it is time to change.

I have a Typhoon III 5 stage sitting in my garage collecting dust.

that looks so much better then a little ro/di unit that only make 100gal if that per day and not including waste. i will look into these and see, thanks steve.

Hey you guys are welcome. As I said, I can't imagine filling your systems with a standard hobbyist RO/DI. Good luck on your hunt.

Yea is sucks :( I need to look around and see if they have anything like that cost effectively in Ohio...

Just a suggestion, call the local dialysis center at a nearby large hospital. Ask them which company they use for their r/o system. Most dialysis centers are at least open m-sat.

Matt

nice system to provide water, pure water. Dialysis centers ,hospitals use this for water not dialysis. Human blood requires a different dialysilate, I believe it to be lactated ringers but I'm not positive. The dialysis membrane used in the dialyseas machine works because the dialysilate for Used salt water is pure water ie RO/DI. The membrane allows the impurities in the tank water to be removed nitrates, nitrites, heavy metals, etc, and yes salt and trace elements but it also conserves salt. For instance if you do a 100 gallon water change traditionally you must return/replace enough salt for that 100 gallons. with dialyseas you would only replace a fraction of that salt. in addition the replacement Salt and water) is automated. Controlled by conductivity to the tenth of a millisiemen and the "change" occurs every thirty minutes twenty four hours a day. for instance I performe 240 gallons "water change" per month that is 8 gallons a day or in my case 0.166 gallons every 30 minutes. The tank sees absolutely no swings in perameters extreme stability. It would be nice to use that other system to produce the dialysilate..(RO/DI) the no waste aspect is appealing especially if you are on municipal water and pay water plus sewer per gallon. I am on a well and septic so the waste is not as big a deal.

thanks Richard, so far the response for dialyseas have been great.
