So i'm getting a quote back for my new 370g (1400 litres) mixed reef tank so I want some feedback on my wish list of fish, A lot of them are aggressive.

- Clown Tang
- Sohal Tang
- Pair of Crosshatch trigger fish
- Blue Tang (Currently own)
- Sailfin Tang (Currently own)
- Ocellaris clownfish pair (Currently own)
- 4 x Blue/Green Chromis (Currently own)
- 4 x Queen Anthias

The clown and sohal tang are very aggressive, I don't know if you want to risk putting both in a tank, especially since you have other tangs as well. I would chose one of those or neither if it was my tank

How long is the tank? I agree with the above statement that it is unwise to put a clown and a Sohal together... It can be done while the fish are small but in a year, they will outgrow each other in a tank that size and get very aggressive. One will need to be removed. I would personally choose the Sohal - a clown tang will get incredibly aggressive to other fish and likely to you. Don't do that to yourself and your tank :P

You also might want to watch the triggers with small fish.

Thanks, perhaps I will go with the sohal tang and compromise on the rest. The tank will be 2.5 metres long.

Agree that purple queens are essentially impossible to keep. Better anthias choices would be lyretails or bartletts. I have sucessfully kept a square before, but only as a single male, never could get a group.

Maybe a Naso tang instead of clown? Nasos are beautiful fish and generally peaceful. Watch the sohal, might have to remove it if it gets aggressive.

Scratch the clown and Sohal tangs, if big tangs is what your looking for a Naso, Mata, Maculiceps, and Dussermi are all much better choices. Big Sohals will kill any fish it pleases.

Updated list

- Clown Tang
- Pair of Crosshatch trigger fish
- Blue Tang (Currently own)
- Sailfin Tang (Currently own)
- Ocellaris clownfish pair (Currently own)
- 3 x Blue/Green Chromis (Currently own)
- Dussermi Tang
- Pair of pink skink clownfish (Might need to remove the other pair or would they be fine if introduced at the same time in a big tank?)

One pair of clownfish per tank. Even in a tank that size you'd likely end up with the pairs fighting each other.

Yes, once a pair starts breeding they will kill off the other pair of clowns. The pink skunks are very aggressive and territorial. Beautiful clowns, but nasty temperaments.

Clown tangs are also very aggressive.
