Flatworms

Im currently battling these tiny red rusty colored flatworms in my 120gal tank. The tank is is good shape phospates are at .04 and not really any readable nitrates. I have a 20 gal fug and a 40 gal sump on the system. I have added 2 sixline wrasses and 2 mandarins to the tank to help battle the flatworms. Also im sucing about 4 or 5 gals of water a day out of the tank and sucking all the flat worms i can see out. Even with all this the flatworms still seem to multiply really fast. Does anyone have any adivice for getting rid of these. I was thinking of doing flatworm exit soon but was concerned about killing my tank.

You are already doing what I think is the best method, it is of course a lot more work for you, but adding a poisen to the tank will most likely leave you wishing you had not.

I tried everything and I mean everything to get rid of flatworms. The only thing that worked was Flatworm Exit and it worked great with the following caveats. For a 120 gal tank have 50-60 gallons of water ready for a water change and do it in about 45 minutes whether it looks like you need it or not. If you wait to see your fish crumping from the toxins it's probably too late in my experience. Run carbon as instructed if you can as soon as you finish the water change. Make sure you have full flow going through any sumps and fuges to kill worms there. That was my mistake the first time I did it. Not enough flow in my refugium and I'm sure I didn't treat it adequately and they re-populated from there. Good luck if you pursue this route. It does work and I think it can be done safely.
