Fluorescent SPS

Hi,

Can anyone recommend some fluorescent SPS in colors other than green? I mean SPS that will light up under actinics.

I'm really looking for branching or tabling types in red, orange, pink, blue, purple, etc. I have a couple of greens already, and an orange setosa, but want some more pop when the actinics kick on.

Thanks!

I always get my stuff from local guys, if your truly in Houston there are a ton of reefers out there to get quality stuff from. I lived in Houston breifly there are some awesome LFS.

montis. i have 3 montis that glow pretty well. as well as a few other acros. pretty much any green hydno, slimer, etc....but they are green.

another great way to tell is go to your LFS with a uv flashlight. even your phone can pick up a decent amount of flourescent your eye cant see. shine it in the tank or take a pic and see what you can see. Some LFS may still only have actinic on if you get there early or late.

Pavona maldivensis - The orange-copper form looks cool under actinics as well as all the lights.

Sorry for the VERY crappy phone pic, the phone does not pic up metallic colours very well. The pic looks purple, rather than orange-copper colour it actually is . The pic is taken with all the lights on, you can see the corallite septocostae (ridges around corallites) picking up the acticnics & fluorescing even with all the lights on. If you google images of "Pavona maldivensis" the 4th image has realistic colour.

A. Hoeksemai glows deep blue with flourescent green corallites. A very challenging SPS to keep though.

Other flourescent ones that I like under 420nm actinics: A. Yongei, A. Loripes, and A. Prostrata
