Foam Rock Wall!

I see things are coming along. I remember you getting that 10 gallon prepared at your first meeting. I have some painting to do here as well. I would almost prefer a black eye than to start a paint project.

Haha believe me I HATE TO PAINT!!!! this was the wifes compromise... So i did what i had to do to keeo the peace. It wasnt that bad really the waynes coating or what ever u call that white panling ttowards the bottom of the wall... The crappy part is the cellings are 14 or 16 ft tall i need to measure it so im not lieing to ppl :)

thats so funny! When i talked the wife into a bigger tank what I said was "Lets put a big tank in the office" what she heard was "I would love to redecorate the entire office!"

New desk, paint, cabinets, trim.

But hey! I got my tank!

Your project looks good, keep the updates coming!

Day one filled. The protine skimmer is acting crazy, im guessing over time it will get better. Im using polishing filters to help clear the water faster.

Not a problem, its actually really easy.... A bit time consuming considering u already have a stocked reef tank.. If starting from scratch its cake. I took a bit longer wih mine because i went against the grain a bit, I have read several forms that say dont use gorilla glue to attach the sand to the foam but i have also read some where people had no problems in a reef what so ever so I bit the bullet and used it... I like it ita cheap and it expands giving that rocky look.

The only thing I can think of is residue from the gorilla glue, you may have to do a couple of water changes to see if that helps.hth

Im going to try that. Do u think i could get away with ro/di water with no salt added? I mean im setting at 1.024 sg at the moment but have no live stock. That would be alot of wasted saltwater if i do a 50% water change.

When I did hypo treatment on my 240,the skimmer really wasn't doing much after it hit around 1.016 mark.Have you tried posting it in general discussion forum on rc,someone with exp with the foam rock wall may help you out.

Good news, I think the skimmer problem worked itself out. I guess it being a new setup it has mothing to skim.... Duh Brian!

The 6" I added to the base really makes a difference! It makes seeing the actual tank and contents so much better. This is just a random pic I took as soon as i put the canopy back on.

Here is the first shot of the tank with lights, its at night and everything is so white and clean... Oh how i miss the color! Im not sure if im content with the over all color of the lights just yet im running overdriben t5's. Bulbs are (front to back) Ati coral plus, Ati blue plus, KZ fiji purple, Ati blue plus, and another Ati coral plus. I may change out the Ati coral plus bulbs with Ati Aquablue specials. I have some here there just old, maybe i will swap them out just to see the color difference.
