For all you Sunburst/Flamethrower BTA fans

this is me

Just saw these at my lfs. Priced lower than most red BTA I've seen online.
2 out of the three are unique. You know which I'm talking about.

If you are talking about 2 out of the 3... they can't be unique :)

Just messing with you :)

Personally I think they ALL look nice!

Under LED lights, good camera, and some photoshop.
Now who wants a sunburst/flame thrower/rainbow BTA?

Yes these are nice anemones... but I've seen nicer. That said, I wonder why people seem to focus more on fancy names and "uniqueness" than the beauty of each individual animal? It's not like reefing is a competition sport :)

Don't you find your statements contradict each other? :)

i dont think people really buy it just for the name to be honest...
i really think that people look..something catches their eye... they obviously like the way it looks, and then the fancy name comes later.. and didnt he say it was being sold cheaper then most normal RBTA's.. ? so imo i think people blow the whole just cause it has a name on it you mustah paid hundreds of dollar's for it out of proportion...

i mean i bought that purple/green bta awhile back, and my GF named it the joker because green/purple resemble the joker and she liked it.. and people thought i was trying to put a name on it sell it for alot, which wasnt the case.. i think sometimes names fit.. expecially when the Lady friend says you can only buy it she can name it :) haha

Hmmmm... I'm not trying to be contradictory. What I am saying is I have seen pretty anemones and not so pretty anemones but I think they are all beautiful (if that makes sense). I get the feeling sometimes that people look at an anemone and say "that's really cool! what is it?" and someone answers "a common BTA" and the first person sighs and says "oh never mind I thought it was something special".

And this is all in the spirit of fun I am not trying to make anyone feel bad :)

48hrs in.
I might've lucked out. They don't seem to move much. The top hasn't moved at all. I placed the foot a small crevice in the rock. The bottom one has move slightly off the smaller rock and onto the bigger rock. The tank has crazy flow because of the gigantea requirement.

I'm also surprised that the bubbles are still there. IME, they lose the bubbles within a few days in the tank. I really hope they stay! Have not fed them yet. I don't plan on feeding them.

This thread is to document the color of BTA under LED lights. This picture is taken with 50/50 white and blue LEDs. The top pictures was under Blue LEDs only. You can tell by the background color...

Ahhh... so you will be feeding them, just not "target feeding" them...?

Of course, every tank is different, and the amount everyone feeds is different. I just always question when people say, "I don't plan on feeding X." These animals have evoled prey capture and a digesting gut for a reason - they eat.

In keeping BTAs, LTAs, Haddonis and Magnificas, I can tell a significant growth increase in all when I when I get lazy for a few weeks and stop feeding and then start target feeding again.

But, just my experiences.

This. People seem to like to slap a fancy name on something and charge a ridiculous amount of money for it.

And yes... give me the scientific name, at least to the genus, and then, if applicable, tell me what color morph(s) it has.

Cheers
Mike
