For angelfish fans - Chaetodontoplus vanderloosi

Hopefully Copps can chime in. Depending on where it was caught it may not be vanderloosi but something similar from a different location. I think Coops had a conversation with Gerald Allen about this.

I had one in my cart until the wee hours of this morning, I was ready to pull the trigger, but was agonizing over the solid yellow tail, and ultimately via some quick research, decided against it.

I just wasn't convinced it was a vanderloosi, I am no expert, so perhaps it was... It might have just been a maturation issue with the tail color.

I did grab the picture from the site, so here you go"¦

I think it was listed at $250

Cheap for a angel! Hard to tell, sometimes Michael has fish labeled wrong. Ie the male false personifer he has was listed as a true personifer at one point, which he also had in stock last month. Either way he has a nice selection of fish you don't typically see at good prices. Also since he doesn't seem to have any other Australian fish I would assume it wasn't really a Vanderloosi since they are found in a small area near PNG (per Copps)

The video I supplied was from PNG. Although I have dived PNG many times, I have only seen one in real life once.

BTW it is back on the website. I guess someone bailed.

I believe the fish came from Taiwan because it showed up on the site the same day as Zebra horn sharks and the some other fish usually from Japan. . I also found this, I'm pretty sure it is the same fish, also from Taiwan. I just can't read Chinese and google translate does a poor job.

saw them...they are real...Michael got a 2nd batch, nobody bailed...first few went to a guy in Florida, and 2 to Cali...got a few more in a couple days ago, around 4 inches...I might...

Based on some of the posters in this thread, I'm guessing NYAquatic is good to go for ordering online?
