Salifert test kits have come into question. I am sure those of you who use them and for those that want to buy them already know about this....from your extensive research. So in case you put your spouse or children in line ahead of your reef tank (ha ha ha), please read the following links.

I am switching over to API or Elos until they get it figured out. Most likely Elos. Wrong readings = wrong dosing = dead animals....

So I guess I need to get a new ALK test kit. I had read up on this and was just going to wait till mine ran out but I don't think I want to wait. So is anyone is going to put in an odrer LMK before you doit please.

I plan to order here in the next day or two... Actually tonight or tomnorrow.. Tell me what you need and I will get it if you want. After more reading, I may just go with API now, instead of Elos. I only need Magnesium and Alkalinity as I have the rest and trust them 100%.

$5.something per kit. They look cheesy to me but people on here say they work fine. SO, I may get the Salifert Mg kit and the API Alk kit.

I'll wait and see how this comes out... to me, it doesn't matter either way as long as there consistency somewhere in the line.

Who's consistency?? API and Elos?? If so, Elos gives a better reading, more accurate. API gives whole number readings.

I ment one test kit type giving the same reading over and over long term. IOW, I can wait and see what comes about.

Now I am back to Elos for both Alk and Mg. Haven't ordered yet. Garrett, you definitely want the API kit??

Don't really know the differance if the price is about the same it don't matter to me.

Were are you ordering from??

The price is not the same. The Elos kit is a premium product over the API. I will order from whoever has both kits, assuming you want the API still. PA or Marine Depot are my first choices.

Test kits ordered from Marine Depot this morning. Garrett, I got you the API Alk kit, as well as one for myself. I also got an Elos Magnesium kit for me.
