Those are some nice moon lights! Are you ever going to get a anemone?

After being in hypo for the last month and having no signs of ich anymore, eating, and coming out, I've raised the salinity in the QT to within .04 the last week and today acclimated and put my royal gramma officially in the DT!

Will try to get some better pics later!

You seem to be taking some pretty good pics. I know it's hard to get the dam fish in a pic! I have a high end point-in-shoot that takes some really great photos but its a different story when it comes to the tank. Sometimes you just need to play with the settings. I usually play with my white balance, ISO, focus mode (eg. macro), and shutter speed to get the pic.

Good pics!

Definitely adds great color to the tank as a whole!

LOOKING PRETTY GREAT!!

Yes but sadly the gramma has some nipping on his tail fin, and I can't catch the darn fire fish, so I hope they figure it out amongst themselves!

Your photos are tack sharp. It your focus point thats off.:uhoh2:
Great save on your RG.

Good call! And thanks he seems to be doing good. I'm just hoping the situation with the firefish doesn't stress him enough to do damage. Some fin nipping is going to happen I'm sure so hopefully it progresses well.

Woo! Got home to the gramma happily out swimming around with Thelma and Louise who also seem to be being more cordial to one another. Was also eating happily when I fed the tank! Can't wait to go down to sac on saturday to get some new goodies!

Went to your reef in sac today, dropped about 200 bucks on stuff. Love it!!! A couple chalices, Jedi mind trick monti, season greeting monti, purple with green polyp monti, teal Favia, orangish blue acan, Orange acan lord, green slimer, a bunch of z/p's, some random thing she couldn't tell me what it was? A conch snail, a fuzzy shroom, andddd a huge green bubble nem! Also got a black tail spot blenny and a two spot (the cool two fin desert camo lookin one) goby! They are in QT. Everything looks amazing!
I love that place! Pics!

On a BUILD NOTE! After a bunch of research and thinking, I went for it, I ordered just now a jebao wp25. Should be here in a few days! Can't wait to get it. In my opinion even if it lasts a year or so it's a pretty good price. Got the 2014 model so has the new controller! And since ill return this petco POS ph it's only like a 15 dollar upgrade! Lol

Forrest's Reef Tank Build

BUILD NOTE: So far the jebao is totally awesome. A single wp25 seems to be a good sweet spot for a 75 gallon 4ft tank. A ton of power. I have the speed set to S3 which is 50 percent and the W1 selection so I get to choose the frequency the wave is made. Pretty cool power head for 71 dollars its currently beating a koralia! Set up was simple. The feed mode is awesome, I really enjoyed getting to feed reef roids and then mysis to everyone and the power head wasnt just blowing everything around.

Next thing on the list is a Octopus skimmer. And I'm ordering my much much larger CUC this week. Hopefully get over this diatom bloom.

Also initiated a 2 day a week 5 gallon WC.

Params:
SG:1.025
Mag:1350
Alk:8.3
Cal:430
Nitrate:0
Ph:8.3
Ammonia:0

Going on 4 months and seems to be doing quite well.

Foregoing the skimmer and making that next priority. Ordered my TUNZE Osmolator and a nice big CUC from reefcleaners.com also a bag of they're 15 dollar pods!

Ok! Got my CUC last week and they seem to be doing well. Tunze should be here tomorrow. Now did something good for the sump. Got a clip on work light and a 6500k daylight Twisty bulb. Put them on a timer do run opposite my DT lights. Put a nice fat ball of chaeto in there.

Now what this does, and has been shown to do, is help to negate the ph swing usually seen at night. The light blaring on the chaeto causes photosynthesis and thus respiration and keeps oxygen levels in the tank in check. Also it provides a place for pods to live!

Well! First big emergency. Obviously something went wacky with my ATO and pretty much flooded my tank, I think since I was trying to tune my new plumbing setup air got in and possibly air locked my overflow and secondarily the ATO Pumoed like 6 gallons of FW into the tank, came home to the tank filled over the brim and the carpet around the tank soaked. Fixed it all and it seems to be running properly now. However it plummeted my SG from 1.025 to 1.023. Ill raise it tomorrow slowly through out the day. Man glad I caught it and today wasnt a work day!!! Either way seems to be running properly as I've been gone for the last 3 hours and the ATO hasn't kicked on and everything is stable. No issues with livestock thankfully.

Hopefully it never happens again!! Sheesh! Just did a big water change yesterday so that's kind of frustrating!

Sadly thismorning I had to remove my gbta. He was starting to melt. First real loss in the DT, not sure the reason. I still feel it was the light shock coming from mh to led. He put up a good fight though.
Will try another in a few months and try toget one from an led system.
