Never tried nor seen it done. Clowns do ok with frog spawn? I have a great bunch of frog spawn. I don't want the clowns to mess up my frog spawn. Then again I want the future clowns to do well. Any thoghts ideas or suggestions on this future clown buy. Thanks I am not going to buy another nem.

My SA Fancy Ocellaris pair love Frogspawn. The female took the first frogspawn I put in which was about 3" across. Later I added two 6" frogspawns and the males swims about them. They also accepted a GBTA and a 1" Candy Cane.

My clowns don't seem to care one way or the other about my hammer. Frogspawn and hammer are pretty close so I thought I would chime in. :)

I have a frogspawn and a hammer right next to one another. And a clown fish just love both of them.:eek1:

as for the clowns.... is there certain clowns that like it more or less? I would like to geet clowns again but I am not doing Nems again. I like the fact that they like the frog... now there is nothing saying that they will go to it.... just let nature do its thing?

The clowns I've had that seem most eager, or quickest to look for, or accept a host would probably be maroons, then clarki's.
Pretty much most clowns will eventually want to establish some kind of host or host area, very common euphyllia(frog/hammer etc) or toadstools or similar.
My picasso's took to a monti cap for a while, loved that to death, but I think they were grooming for spawn.
Most of the time when I see slow to host posts they seem to usually be occs.

Here's my female Perc "loving" her candy cane:

And here she is a year later nestled in her mushroom:

They are quite fascinating creatures.

My Ocellaris love their frogspawn. I also have a pair of snowflakes that host a hammer coral.

Aside from sometimes annoying the coral, the only problem I've ever seen with clowns being hosted by a frogspawn or torch is that sometimes their fins get cut up by the edges of the skeleton.

Yea, that's the worst of seen as far as damage to a clown itself. I tried to post a "Enter at Your Own Risk" sign but they must not have noticed it.

Larger frogspawns have no problems, small frags often will. Just like RBTAs, a small one gets annoyed to death, a large one has no trouble.

Well how about breeding clowns and frog spawn? works the same?
This is a couple pics of my frog spawn. its rather big.
so big is better and any clown will work if I am correct..?

Well I just picked up my clowns today. So I will see how this goes. thanks for the advice. I wanted to make sure of all of the pro and cons before I made my decision. Thanks again. by the way okr33 love the color of your frog spawn. Mine only looks like that with the actinic.
