Don't have a tank anywhere big enough -- but really like how you are going about this.

As someone who has had 5 back surgeries, I can "feel" your pain.

As I said I am a hypocrite as I truly believe Acanthurus Achilles should just be left in the ocean but being that I violated my "rule" I did my best to provide a good home. He had a really rough start and I ended up buying a 90g tank to QT him.

Yes I used a 90gal tank, bigger than many peoples display tank, for QT. :lol:

Unfortunately he hasn't had what I feel is a proper size home in a while so I need to make sure that when he goes somewhere that he will be able to live for many more years to come. Who knows maybe between me and the next owner Ichabod will gain the title of longest Achilles in captivity. :lolspin:

As for the back pain. I am on the strongest dose of cancer patient meds and that still leaves the pain at the best a 5 on a scale of 10.

Bump for an awesome fish,,,i just bought a beautiful 6inch achilles tang for my tank.

I paid 250.00 for him,so your price is right.I am hoping i can get mine to start eating other then grazing on the rock.

If it happens that you are not able to sell Ichabod to someone with the right set up, There's always the Shedd. I don't expect that they'll pay you, but the fish would get the best possible captive conditions.

I know they have at least 2-3 Achilles in their large shark exhibit with the wild reef. Great looking fish!

Ichabod has gone to his new home. Just wanted to give an update so anyone wondering where his placement stood had some closure. I did my best in choosing him a good home. Some of you may be upset I felt your setups were inadequate but I tried to be a conscientious hobbyist.

I think that you are being very reasonable. If I was going to keep my 8'X2'X2.5' tank I would totally look into getting him.

What tank size did you end up going with? I am always interested in these details because based on your comments I would feel he wouldn't have worked in my DD tank which is 6x3x2.5 even with the very open rockwork I have so I didn't even bother asking!

The reasoning for the restrictions don't matter as long as the fish went to a place where he can be healthy.

I agree that the resitrictions were correctly placed. I just think its funny that its ok for some people to keep fish in small tanks, but its not ok for others. :lol:

Uhhh where did I say I was selling because I needed the money? The original post says NOTHING about needing money. Further down when others asked why I couldn't keep him I said I couldn't afford the hobby anymore. He was in a 6ft tank that was too small. I wanted to upgrade to an 8 or 10 ft and it was financially unfeasible. Please before you come in and talk **** learn your facts.

You will also note in the original post that if you didn't like my restrictions move along. I was pretty clear as to what I KNEW the fish needed as far as space goes. If I had him for over 3 years it should be obvious the fish is larger than 3inches. Oh wait I also said about 6 inches. Please read and comprehend before trying to slam others.
