Thank you. Here are some equipment shots.
Is this pic, it looks like you added extra posts to help secure the weight of the tank. What is the weight of the tank? I forget the size of this beauty, im sure you told me already once before.
How many posts did you put in exactly?

Yep. Had a structural engineer come in before the tank went up and he recommended 4 more lally columns. Tank + water + stand is about 2,500 ilbs...don't want that going throught the floor :eek1:

They are 2.5ppm now. I test nitrates about once a month and they have always fluctuated between 1ppm and 2ppm.

I know. I spent about 5 hours today taking out the big orange cap in the front middle, hacking back the big electric green birdsnest and doing some other trimming.

Just saw this thread. WOW! Your progression pics are stunning in both beauty and intrigue. It's like watching SPS grow in front of your eyes. Your pics address a fundamental question we all have regarding how fast SPS grow in a healthy system. Thank you for sharing your tank with us and I look forward to future progress.

Can't say enough how much of an inspiration you and this tank are. I especially love the fact that you simply rely on good old fashioned husbandry, heavy feeding and good nutrient export.
On that note I have recently begin feeding my fish and coral much more than before. I have been 0ppm No3 (salifert) & 0.00ppm Po3 (hanna) for some time, I have noticed a improvement already. Anyway some cyano has popped up in small patches much like the picture below. Normally I would freak out at any sign of algae and feed sparingly....I was wondering what do you do when small patches of algae or cyano show up? Wait it out, act or just forget about it.

I get cyno and other problem algae every now and then but not as much since I started using ESV salt instead of Coralife about 9 months ago. I also use phosphate remover to keep things in check. My advice would be to try and remove any large patches manually but to not freak out about any small patches....I have them and they are manageable.Can't say enough how much of an inspiration you and this tank are. Can you tell me what is the maintenance and the regulary with which you do, to keep your tank background clean of coralline algae? Do you have any space behind the aquarium to help with this?

Tell me theres a 500g tank on the cards
Have you thought about introducing vodka, starting with really small additions (something silly like 1ml per day)? It might just marginally reduce the zooxanthellae in your SPS, making them pop even more than they already are.
