I removed that slimer a while ago. It just overtook the whole left side of the tank and was blocking out other corals. I also had to get rid of the Powder Blue since it became very aggressive. It got to the point where he would freak out every time I got a new fish.Keith, what happened to the Green Slimer tree that was on the right?
Also, I remember a Powder Blue tang in there. Did you trade him up for the Black Tang and Regal Angel?
Thanks Mark!Absolutely Gorgeous Keith!
Keith,
I haven't visited your thread in a couple of years and I am amazed at what I am seeing! Truely inspiring! The tank progression shots kill me. Your obsession and commitment to it is incredible. I've seen a lot of tanks over the past 12 years/hands down yours is one of the most inspiring!
Why did you decide to change salts? I'm sure your weekly water changes make a huge difference in your stability and growth. In my opionion, I think that is the number one key to your tank. Is that automated?
Are you really able to maintain your Alk and Ca levels with just a reactor and Kalk? How much Kalk do you add to your reactor monthy.
Do you have any thoughts about adding more flow?
You are so lucky to have an AO tank. :love2: I wish I could get one:sad2:
Thanks! It is a labor of love. After 2 years its amazing to see how your corals have grown! just shows that the way to get a great looking tank is time. Great job you have my vote for TOTM
Thanks Jeff! I have some older top down shots so I have to take some new one.I always love coming back to this thread Keith and seeing the progression of your reef, the latest FTS is looking fantastic, one of my favourites.
Is there a chance of one or two top-down shots of the reef? I'd imagine it looks amazing from above!
Jeff.
Many thanks!Wow!! Gorgeous tank!!
Thanks man! I was having a bit of a cyno problem and i had some other nuisance algea so i decided to switch from Coralife To ESV. The Coralife was also a bit high on Ca. Anyway, the problem algea went away and my tank has responded very well. The ESV is also very stable batch to batch and can be used pretty much right away if need be.
And yes my reactors keep up fine with the tank's demands. I add about 3 cups of Kalk every 3 weeks ( I swap out the old). At this point I have no plans to add additional flow. I did add an Ecotech about a year ago to the top center of the tank.
Yes. Got to love AO tanks. Too bad they are out of business.
Just an outstanding tank...one of my all time favories
Thanks for the new FTS  The progression really is fun to look at!
Chris
This has always been one of my favorite tanks. Glad to see this thread is still going!
Just curious, where do you buy your ESV salt? Online or local (Greenwich Aq?)? I might be willing to give it a try.
Thanks!
Looks great! Still have the frags I bought from you last year.
