Nice tank. Ary you still running the same light set up as when you started? Also great growth.

Nope....I started with 400W 10k bulbs on HQI ballasts plus 8 39W full spectrum T5s and then switched to 250W 14k bulbs on HQI ballasts and mixed in some actinic T5s. For the past 10 months or so I have been running 400W Radiums on HQI ballasts and super actinic T5s.

I noticed a change with the pictures, thats why I asked. It looks really nice. I can't wait for my tank to look half as good as yours.

WOW this has to be one of my most favorite tanks. It looked great in the past but these last few months things are looking CRAZY! There is something you guys from CT do to your tanks that I just can't figure out 
. After seeing kedd's tank and Jason's from Grenwich Aquaria.....it's like you guys have your tanks on steriods..LOL

Yes....My old tank had 400W 20K Radiums on HQI ballasts and I always loved that combo. They have really helped me with my colors and really turbo-charged the growth. I actually feel fortunate to have the 400W HQI ballasts since PFO is now out of business and Sunlight Supply discontinued its 400W HQI ballast (I snagged the last 2 dual ballasts from Premium Aquatics).
Thanks! I actually just added a Vortech MP40w to the back of the tank since all the growth was cutting back on the flow. I am also adding a frag tank to do some more serious pruning

I haven't seen many T5 only tanks but I have to agree with you about the halides since they provide great punch for me.

Those are some great shots - really convey the change in your aquarium well. I'm afraid if I did mine over two or three years, none would like the same because I rearrange so often! The goniopora looks like it's doing pretty well in your system - do you direct feed it?
Wow amazing progress, what an inspiration I just started a 30 gallon tank about a month ago, was skeptical about venturing into this hobby. I have to admit I feel like it's my worst addiction, I started off with a false percula clown fish, then introducing every other week a 6line wrasse, goby clown fish if he's still alive, and a royal gramma, mandarin physcoldelic fish, and a few bubble anemones. Then a few "enough to support the 30 G tank" turbo snails, hermit crabs, emerald crabs, a variety of corals, now which I'm proud too have done my research too be able too maintain a happy life for them. I'm constantly surveying the real-estate in my tank to see what will be my next coral purchase. I know some people would think that I'm crazy for make such a huge investment in such a short period of time with my tank set up but it seems that I was born with a "salty thumb" instead of a green thumb! I will figure out somehow being new to forums and start posting my progress pics to show every true reefer.

really awesome tank... great growth and color.
Personally though, i like the look of the tank around september 2008-january 2009 the most.. i think that being able to see between the islands really helps the look of the tank, as well as keeping that green slimer on the far left down to size.
